Spiritually Speaking

Psalms 107:20-21 He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. (21) Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! (KJV)

Jesus Christ is God’s gift to mankind, though many others try and claim that title; He only is the great physician, and able to restore us to a healthy relationship with our Father, healing the brokenhearted.

Matthew 23:25-26 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. (26)  Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also. (KJV)

When people talk of good health, the first thing that comes to mind is diet and exercise.  If you watch the TV ads, you will see many things man has invented to produce results, quick and easy. However, good health begins in the heart, cleansing the inward man first, which will manifest in the outward.

Matthew 6:31-33 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (32) (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. (33) But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. (KJV)

Man’s first priority, and the way we have been taught all our life, is to take care of the outward first, which will then satisfy the inward. However in God’s realm, which differs from mans, we should be diligent to first seek the things of God which will keep one in good standing and healthy, spirit, soul, and body.

Proverbs 4:20-22 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. (21) Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. (22) For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. (KJV)

The kingdom of God is within you, and learning how to feed and nurture the new creation within is what will make you whole.

Isaiah 55:2-3 Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness. (3) Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David. (KJV)

How much soul food are you getting in your diet? Are you living a healthy diet spiritually, or trying to get by on junk food, mans doctrines, full of additives and unhealthy supplements, quick fixes that promise much and deliver little.

3 John 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. (KJV)

If you notice the order in the verses above, you will see the same pattern; seeking first the things of God, will bring about the desired results that God has promised for those that believe. Now go take what is rightfully yours as a child of God, and don’t accept anything less. God bless and keep the faith.
