Spiritually Speaking

Matthew 10:8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. (KJV)

Thayer’s definition for ‘sick’:

770  astheneo-

1) to be weak, to be feeble, to be without strength, to be powerless

2) to be weak in means, to be needy, to be poor

3) to be feeble, to be sick

Romans 5:6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. (KJV)

Jesus Christ is God’s gift to mankind, to reveal the plan of salvation, and provide the spiritual remedy for what is ailing mankind spiritually, and make us whole; spirit, soul, & body. The Lord Himself was described as a physician, to provide the spiritual diagnosis for what was ailing mankind, which is sin.

Luke 5:31-32 And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick. (32) I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. (KJV)

Thayer’s definition for ‘physician’:

2390  iaomai-

1) to cure, to heal

2) to make whole; to free from errors and sins, to bring about (one's) salvation

1 Corinthians 11:28-31 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. (29) For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body. (30) For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. (31) For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. (KJV)

In the physical realm when a person is brought to the hospital with an ailment, many times it is traced back to a food or drink, something tainted, something not seen, yet enough to bring one down. The same holds true in the spiritual realm as well. If we were more alert to what we allowed in our spiritual temple we would see more strength in the body of Christ, and not such a weak, feeble run down church. And if allowed to continue, these subtle, manmade doctrines, like many diseases and infections that creep into the body, can cause one to be weak, sickly, as well as lead to death.

Psalms 67:1-2 God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us; Selah. (2) That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations. (KJV)

God has given us a physical body, as well as a spiritual body, both of which need to be maintained, and exercised on a daily basis in order to stay healthy. If we don’t take the time and effort to discern what we eat and drink, in either realm, it opens the door for any number of unhealthy ailments to creep in, and as the word of God says, many have allowed themselves to become, weak, sickly, and fallen asleep, living in a dream world. The word salvation itself means health, safety, deliverance, as well as a defense, and to accept anything else is just plain sick. So by taking the time to examine yourself, working out your own salvation, you will find yourself living a healthier lifestyle, spirit, soul, and body.

John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. (KJV)

An abundant, healthy life is available, as long as you keep the thief on the outside, and not allow him access to the body. So be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might, let this be a day of victory, walking in what is rightfully yours. Now go take on the day, and expect the best, knowing that we serve the best.
