Which One?
1 Corinthians 8:4-7 As concerning
therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto
idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none
other God but one. (5) For though there be that are called gods, whether in
heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,) (6) But to us
there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him;
and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him. (7)
Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge: for some with conscience
of the idol unto this hour eat it as a thing offered unto an idol; and
their conscience being weak is defiled. (KJV)
Sound simple, well according to the word
of God it is; however, as simple as it really is, there are some, and I
would even go so far as to say many, which still don’t have this knowledge,
but rather still attribute the things of God to other beings, or idols.
Some people think that eating a wafer of bread, or drinking wine or grape
juice, is actually partaking of the body and blood of our Lord. However the
things our Lord did in the outward symbolized the things that would be
taking place in the inward, the Spiritual realm, which is why many miss the
true meaning. Mankind has come up with many names and titles for the Lord,
but as we have been seeing consistently throughout the Word the Lord only
gives credence to one; so now it is up to you to find out which one.
1 Timothy 2:4-6 Who will have all men to
be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. (5) For there is one
God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; (6) Who
gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. (KJV)
Again I wish to reiterate the fact that
although many claim all paths lead to the same place, it is not the place
our Lord intended for His people. First of all, one has to know that all
scripture is given to us by God so that we can know and not have to guess
who He is and how to access Him. We see once again that our Lord and His
doctrine is singular, the truth, through one man Christ Jesus. Salvation is
the beginning or should be the beginning of your search, and now it is time
to move forward in your walk and come to a working knowledge of the truth
if one wishes to stay free and endure to the end. So although many people
have come up with about as many different names for our Lord as there are
people, it is vital that you know it is only through Christ Jesus that one
can access our Father, and let Him reveal Himself to you personally.
James 2:1-4 My brethren, have not the
faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.
(2) For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly
apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment; (3) And ye have
respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou
here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here
under my footstool: (4) Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are
become judges of evil thoughts? (KJV)
Hey aren’t you glad our Lord didn’t judge
you by the outward? I know I am; because according to His word He chose the
foolish things to confound the wise, and I am guilty as charged concerning
the foolish part. Again we see the phrase ‘the faith’ associated with our
Lord Jesus Christ; and how there are some that still judge others according
to the outward. Case in point, while watching some of these religious shows
and their endless telethons, they offer more to those that give the most
and basically ignore the rest. In the Lord’s realm it is just the opposite,
He is willing to give us access to His free gift of life without a price
tag, or any hidden agenda. In fact the Word tells us that He chose the poor
in this world rich in faith, because when one is not always certain where
their next meal is coming from or where they are going to sleep that night,
suddenly God and His Word move up on their priority list. Even our Lord Himself
said the foxes have holes but He didn’t have a place to rest, and yet I
don’t see where God thought any less of Him. So how do you judge an
organization; by the size of the building or by the doctrine that is being
preached?
Jude 1:3-6 Beloved, when I gave all
diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me
to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the
faith which was once delivered unto the saints. (4) For there are certain
men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this
condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into
lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
(5) I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how
that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward
destroyed them that believed not. (6) And the angels which kept not their
first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in
everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. (KJV)
First of all, if the people had been
alert and watching Spiritually they wouldn’t have let the enemy creep in
unaware, you know like a serpent does when it goes after its prey?
Secondly, the reason the enemy is coming at them is because of the fact
that at one time they were mindful of who the one Lord is and what name He
goes by. Sound to simple, maybe silly, well, it’s amazing how many people
preach and teach in the name of Jesus and leave Christ out of their prayers
and teachings also, which means they do not have a working knowledge of the
realm of the Spirit and why it is so vital to know His name.
Acts 4:10-12 Be it known unto you all,
and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of
Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him
doth this man stand here before you whole. (11) This is the stone which was
set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. (12)
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under
heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (KJV)
No other name, one Lord, one faith;
however, even though the Bible is specific in pointing this out, there are
many who do not have knowledge of this but rather think they know a better
way. Some day when you stand before the Lord seeking access into His
kingdom He is going to ask you personally which one; and unless it is
according to His Word you will have an eternity to ponder how something so
simple was missed and overlooked.
