Seeing Is Believing
Luke 1:31-35 And, behold, thou shalt
conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.
(32) He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the
Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: (33) And he
shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there
shall be no end. (34) Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be,
seeing I know not a man? (35) And the angel answered and said unto her, The
Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall
overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee
shall be called the Son of God. (KJV)
Not only was Mary going to bring forth a
son and call his name Jesus, but there would be more to this man than just
meets the eye, the outward limited sight of man. There was also something
holy within this man, something hidden but about to be revealed, that being
the Son of God Christ within Him, which is also within you.
Galatians 1:11-12 But I certify you,
brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. (12) For
I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the
revelation of Jesus Christ. (KJV)
Paul was used of God because he allowed
God to work in him and to reveal His plan of salvation to him which came
forth through the revelation of Christ. It was when He allowed the Spirit
to bear witness to his spirit that he realized for himself that there was
more to this man Jesus of Nazareth than what he had heard from other
people, and that it was Christ in Him that allowed Him to do those things
that were pleasing to God.
Galatians 1:13-16 For ye have heard of my
conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I
persecuted the church of God, and wasted it: (14) And profited in the Jews'
religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly
zealous of the traditions of my fathers. (15) But when it pleased God, who
separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace, (16) To
reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen;
immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood: (KJV)
Are you still going by second hand
information; what people keep trying to tell you is truth rather than
hearing it from the source Himself? If you desire to endure to the end and
know for sure God’s plan of salvation and where He would have you in His
body of believers, then you will need to have it revealed to you personally
as well so that you can see and know for sure. The more you are able to see
into the realm of the Spirit, the more you will be able to believe and hold
God to be true to His word. Paul had a tremendous zeal for God but it
wasn’t always according to His knowledge which we see in verses 13&14,
however when he took the time to hear God personally for himself, he found
the answer was within him all along, that being the revelation of Christ.
Ephesians 3:3-5 How that by revelation he
made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, (4) Whereby,
when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) (5) Which
in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now
revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; (KJV)
When you read through your Bible and see
the term ‘reveal or revealed’ you will see that Christ is involved in this
revelation, described as a mystery. It is a mystery to those that are on
the outside, but it is readily revealed and seen by those that go beyond
the flesh and into the Spirit. As we see in verse 5, those that preach and
teach Christ are truly one of His, having received the revelation of this
mystery first hand for themselves, knowing and not guessing, able to see
the inner working of God through His Son. When I hear so many preach and
teach in the name of Jesus only, and then make comments like ‘what’s the
big deal God knows my heart’ it tells me that the relationship is one way;
God does know their heart but they don’t know the heart of God and His
truth that would set them free from the fallen realm of the flesh.
Matthew 16:13-17 When Jesus came into the
coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men
say that I the Son of man am? (14) And they said, Some say that thou art
John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the
prophets. (15) He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? (16) And
Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living
God. (17) And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon
Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father
which is in heaven. (KJV)
Peter was a man of God, one of His holy
apostles, and as we see he also received this same revelation that Paul
did. While there are as many different names and denominations as there are
people, only one does God give credence to and acknowledge as being of Him.
Some day the Lord is going to ask you the same question personally, that
being ‘who do you say I am’. If you are not able to give the correct
response, one that will only come by a personal revelation of Christ, then
you will be giving man's incorrect answer and one our Lord will not give
credence to, which means you will be left out because you left His name out
of the equation as well.
Matthew 13:54-58 And when he was come
into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they
were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these
mighty works? (55) Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother
called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas? (56)
And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all
these things? (57) And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them,
A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own
house. (58) And he did not many mighty works there because of their
unbelief. (KJV)
Isn’t it interesting that those that just
knew this man Jesus could only see the outward and not the inward man
working in Him? Today many still limit their teachings and prayers
according to the outward as well, ending their prayers in the name of Jesus
and leaving out Christ, which tells me they are not truly one of His. Where
are you looking for truth, and are you going to let someone else other than
God dictate His plan of salvation to you? The name of Jesus can be
mentioned and taught all day, but you add the name of Christ to it and now
you have the complete package, one that gets you pointed to the inward
truth of God’s plan of salvation. What are you seeing when studying the
scriptures; are you able to see beyond the veil of the flesh and into the
spiritual, that being Christ, or have you limited yourself by what the many
are trying to pawn off as God’s truth? Seeing is believing because the more
you allow God to reveal His truth to you in the name of Jesus Christ, the
more you will see and believe His word above and beyond man’s limited and
blind doctrines. God bless and keep seeking, and you will find.
