One And Done
Ephesians 4:5-6 One Lord, one faith, one
baptism, (6) One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all,
and in you all. (KJV)
One faith, which is from one God, who is above
all, and able to do above and beyond all that we could ever ask or think.
Now it’s a matter of letting Him have His way, by taking the time in His
word and in prayer to hear His message being delivered to us through Jesus
Christ, the ‘one’ mediator between us and Him. You know, if you spent more
time in the Word and kept your spiritual senses exercised you would know
the difference between good and evil, what is of God and what man is adding
to the mix, so that you won’t be mixed up. Again when people try to mix and
match, claiming there is more than one faith then they are in essence
telling God they know more than He does; so rather than letting Him be true
they are trying to elevate themselves to the position of above all. If one
recalls, isn’t that what caused the fall of mankind in the beginning, as
well as the fall of the angels?
Ephesians 4:11-13 And he gave some,
apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and
teachers; (12) For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the
ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: (13) Till we all come in
the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a
perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
(KJV)
The reason God appointed His people and
put them in their place in the body, is so that they could teach His people
to come into a unified belief of the faith through the knowledge of Jesus
Christ, which would cause them to grow up and mature in the realm of the
Spirit. But how can one know this unless they understand how God works and
how to get through to Him on a daily basis, and not just on certain days
they think God is listening?
Ephesians 4:14-15 That we henceforth be
no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of
doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie
in wait to deceive; (15) But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into
him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: (KJV)
You can tell children a lot of stories;
and if one notices, lately many books and movies are being made that appeal
to the younger ones, none of which are based on truth but rather fairy
tales. It seems the more farfetched the stories are the more it sells,
which sounds like a lot of the so called ‘faiths’ we have out there being
peddled as the truth. Speaking of the word ‘truth’, if you notice in verse
15 the truth is referred to in singular form as well, which if one is
tapped into that truth then they will grow and mature in the way God
intended for them to. You know, when you think of the wind, the wind is
something that can change on a daily basis, even by the minute sometimes,
which if one does not get rooted and grounded in the truth the winds of
doctrines can have the same effect also on those that claim to be
believers.
1 Corinthians 16:13-14 Watch ye, stand
fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong. (14) Let all your things
be done with charity. (KJV)
The word ‘quit’ means to grow up, to put
away childish things. If you would have been watching in the first place
then you would have stood fast in the faith, and had not been tossed around
with fairy tale doctrines. The only way one can grow up in the things of
God is through the one faith; the only one God gives credence to.
1 Timothy 5:7-8 And these things give in
charge, that they may be blameless. (8) But if any provide not for his own,
and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is
worse than an infidel. (KJV)
You know as a parent, it is up to you to
provide for your family, not just the physical part but the Spiritual as
well. While many look at this verse and just see the outward implications,
the Spiritual is far greater than the physical and this is an area many
fall short of. Some would rather leave it up to their local congregation,
dumping their offspring off on Sunday mornings to an organization and
leaving it up to them to teach their children. The truth be known though,
it is up to the parent to not only know the truth themselves but to teach
it to their children as well, in deed and not just word.
2 Timothy 4:5-8 But watch thou in all
things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof
of thy ministry. (6) For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my
departure is at hand. (7) I have fought a good fight, I have finished my
course, I have kept the faith: (8) Henceforth there is laid up for me a
crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me
at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his
appearing. (KJV)
Paul made this statement shortly before
he died, which ended up being on behalf of the doctrine he preached which
was according to the truth. When it comes time for your departure from this
realm into the next one, will you be able to make the same statement
because you chose to keep the faith also?
