Lighthouse
Psalms 119:105-106 Thy word is a lamp
unto my feet, and a light unto my path. (106) I have sworn, and I will
perform it, that I will keep thy righteous judgments. (KJV)
What path are you following today and
where is it truly leading you? Is it something our Lord is instructing you
to follow, or are you going in the opposite direction? As a parent, when
your children were out past daylight you would leave the front light on so
that they could see how to get home easier. Our spiritual Father has
provided a lighthouse, for all those on the stormy seas of life being
driven back and forth with winds of doctrines, to find shelter in His
harbor beside His still living waters. Are you on the right path today, and
do you know for sure you are headed in His direction? If not you better
stop and be still so that you can know He is God.
2 Corinthians 4:3-6 But if our gospel be
hid, it is hid to them that are lost: (4) In whom the god of this world
hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the
glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
(5) For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves
your servants for Jesus' sake. (6) For God, who commanded the light to
shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the
knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. (KJV)
It takes a spiritual light to illuminate
the heart so that we can see for ourselves the way of escape from this
present evil world. Many are stuck and are still out at sea, that being the
dead sea, and are unable to see within the realm of the Spirit because of
the blindness of the heart. Rather than take the time to see the light for
themselves many are more willing to accept second hand information from the
fallen realm of man rather than rising up in the realm of the Spirit and
hearing the message first hand being delivered by Christ. Are you on solid
ground this day, Jesus Christ being your foundation, or are you following a
wide path that leads to destruction because of the crowds and accolades of
man?
Psalms 43:3-4 O send out thy light and
thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to
thy tabernacles. (4) Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto God my
exceeding joy: yea, upon the harp will I praise thee, O God my God. (KJV)
The joy of the Lord is our strength; not
only do we get to experience His joy but the Lord Himself has joy in the
fact that we are being obedient to His word and walking the path of life He
intended for us to walk on. You know, you wouldn’t send your children down
some dark alley in the worst part of town, that wouldn’t be a joy to see
them walking into danger; well neither does our Father rejoice to see us straying
from His path and walking back into the realm of destruction. So what is
illuminating you today; is it the message of faith being delivered by
Christ, or are you following the voice of a stranger into a dark unknown
place?
Philippians 2:14-16 Do all things without
murmurings and disputings: (15) That ye may be blameless and harmless, the
sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation,
among whom ye shine as lights in the world; (16) Holding forth the word of
life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain,
neither laboured in vain. (KJV)
It’s important that once you have been
enlightened to the truth that you continue and endure to the end, walking
that straight and narrow path that leads to eternal life. Many begin in the
Spirit and then think they can perfect their walk by the flesh and its way
of thinking, which results in them being back in darkness running and
laboring in vain. You are as described in the above verses a light that
shines in a dark fallen world to lead and point people to that source of
light, which is Christ in you the only hope of glory. But how can you ever
point people to the right path unless you are on it yourself and continuing
in the right direction? Otherwise you will be blindly leading them into a
ditch and no longer moving forward in your walk.
John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto
them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not
walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. (KJV)
When one is truly in Christ and receiving
His message of faith there are no gray areas neither shadow of doubt. The
more one follows this path of life the closer they get to the Source and
the more it illuminates them to the realm of the Spirit, while just the
opposite happens to those that choose a different path. A perfect love, a
mature understanding of His word, casts out all doubt and fear, knowing not
just guessing that you are on the right path. Have you taken the time to
hear His message that He has for you personally, and then walking in it as
well? Because this is where you will find the one true enlightenment which
will eliminate any doubts and fears.
Matthew 5:14-16 Ye are the light of the
world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. (15) Neither do men
light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it
giveth light unto all that are in the house. (16) Let your light so shine
before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father
which is in heaven. (KJV)
The Lord raised us up from the dead and
allowed us to sit together with Him on top of a heavenly hill high above
the fallen realm of mankind. Not only will this light shine unto you, but
it will give light to those around you and show them the one path that
leads to eternal life. But again, how would you ever know this unless you
make it a priority in your life, eliminating the guess work and knowing
that you are on the one and only path of life, the only path that is
peaceable. For those that travel by sea and have been involved in a storm,
seeing the lighthouse for themselves and knowing they are headed in the
right direction is the only thing that brings them comfort, knowing they
are on a safe path.
Psalms 18:28 For thou wilt light my
candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness. (KJV)
If you have ever seen coal miners you may
have noticed that they all wear hardhats with lights attached to them.
Without that helmet for protection and that light to see where they are
going and what they are mining it would be a waste of time for them to even
go down and attempt to mine the coal. This same principle holds true for
each and every believer in Christ; without the light of His glorious gospel
illuminating our path we would be blindly stuck in a mine shaft with no way
of escape.
Ephesians 1:17-18 That the God of our
Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of
wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: (18) The eyes of your
understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his
calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
(KJV)
Strong’s definition for ‘enlighten’:
5461
photizo (fo-tid'-zo); from 5457; to shed rays, i.e. to shine or
(transitively) to brighten up (literally or figuratively): KJV-- enlighten,
illuminate, (bring to, give) light, make to see.
What do you see today, and which path are
you following? Jesus Christ was the firstborn into the realm of God, and
followed the one path that leads to eternal life and is now seated at the
right hand waiting to see who is willing to follow also. Being the fact
that He is the author and finisher of our faith would it not do you well to
give ear to His message and see for yourself the path that leads to His
eternal lighthouse?
