Liar Liar

Romans 3:3-4 For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect? (4) God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged. (KJV)

Who or what do you consider to be a liar? For some, they think of the slick politician who is running a campaign on moral values only to get caught with his pants down and plastered all over the tabloids. The truth be known though, according to the word of God every man is a liar; it’s only when one comes into agreement with God and His plan of salvation that they are considered justified. Oh you may know some well intentioned people who would give you the shirt off their back and you would trust them with your life, but in the end, unless they are in agreement with God they are considered liars.

Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. (KJV)

A dried out leaf will blow away, while one that is attached to a tree of life will continue to prosper. Those that hold to their own works and think they can impress God with a so called ‘up standing life’ and what they think are pillars in the community, will fade away with every wind of doctrine. People that follow other people many times (because they were taught that way by their parents) find out in the end that it is God that is true and we as a fallen mankind are the liars who try to justify ourselves any other way but through Christ and His doctrine. The doctrine you have been taught and brought up in from your youth, is it truly the doctrine of Christ that brings life or was it based on a false hood, something you did and still do because many others do it? For myself, the more I found truth through a personal relationship with the Father through Jesus Christ, the more I found it contradicted what I had been taught all my life, even by those I was close to and looked up to. Are you grounded and becoming rooted deep enough in the word of God and His spiritual soil so that no matter who or what the lie manifests through you will hold God true and man the liar, or are you like the many which actually have the order reversed?

John 6:63-64 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. (64) But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him. (KJV)

It is only the Spirit that can give life, the flesh and all those that choose to stay in that realm are of no profit to us either. That is why it is vital to rightly divide the word of truth, no matter who is speaking it, or in most cases who is not speaking truth. It is critical to know that the flesh is of no profit to our walk with God, so anytime we lean to our own understanding or to those that we are close to in the flesh it will not bring life but rather will pull you back into the realm you once escaped from. Oh but they are such good people; well remember what our Lord said concerning good, that there was none good but one, that being God. Many people are blinded by emotions because they have let them rule most of their lives. We as Christians are instructed to walk by faith and not by sight, sound, or any other outward thing or person that may try to tell us something contrary to sound doctrine. Whether you choose to believe it or not, and no matter how highly esteemed someone may appear to be, they are all liars in the sight of God until they come into agreement with His plan of salvation which is based on truth, a spiritual truth that sets His people free from any lies or distortions of it.

Matthew 10:35-38 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. (36) And a man's foes shall be they of his own household. (37) He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. (38) And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. (KJV)

Did someone tell you this salvation plan was always going to be easy? That TV show you watched last night where all the Christian people were jumping up and down, one that looked more like a re-run of American Band Stand than something based on truth, is that what you think will get rooted and grounded in truth? You know, our Lord went to the cross and it is our turn to take up a spiritual cross, crucifying our own lust, desires, and emotions as well, so that the Spirit can dictate and not the flesh. Sometimes those that we have been close to all our life haven’t been truthful with us because they didn’t take the time to make salvation a priority, thus they become more of a hindrance than a help, no matter who or how they manifest. Now the ball is in your court and the question is ‘which will you hold to be true, a God in heaven or those of your own household’? In your search for truth you will find many challenges, hurdles, or obstacles that need to be overcome; so now the question is, will you let our Lord be true and set you free, or will you hold to mankind and his fallen nature?

Williams New Testament translation of Matthew 19:26-29

 26. But Jesus looked at them and said, "This is impossible for men, but anything is possible for God." 27. Then Peter answered Him, "We have left everything we had and followed you.  What then are we to get?" 28. Jesus said to them: "I solemnly say to you, in the new order of life, when the Son of Man shall take His seat on His glorious throne, you too, who have followed me, will sit on twelve thrones, and judge the twelve tribes of Israel. 29. And everyone who has given up home or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or farms, for my sake, will receive many times as much, and in addition will be in possession of eternal life.

Is there anything or anyone you consider more important or influential in your life than God Himself? Why, because if there is, then it is impossible to walk with Him. However, if one is willing to forsake anything or anyone that may be a hindrance to their walk to please Him, then anything is possible to them. So what is true to you this day, and what is the deciding factor in all your decisions you make; is it the word of God no matter where it leads, or is it the word of man knowing where that leads? Whatsoever is not of faith is sin; which in its simplest form is unbelief, a realm where man actually calls God a liar. Not a doctrine you want to be taking with you come the day of judgment.
