Enoch And I

Genesis 5:23-24 And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years: (24) And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him. (KJV)

When reading and hearing the scriptures they become more real and alive when one can see the similarities between themselves and others that God has used to deliver His message of faith. For instance, at first glance one would look at these verses and think, wow, what a guy this Enoch must have been to be called of God, then poof, he is out of here. Let’s take a different approach to these verses and see if there is any similarity between your own personal experience with God and this man Enoch.

2 Corinthians 5:14-15 For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: (15) And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. (KJV)

Enoch walked with God, and was not, for God took him. If you think about your own walk, your new life in Christ, you are not going to be on the old path that you used to walk on, which as we see in the above verses was a dead end. Now think of this as well, when you accepted the Lord into your life He took you into a new realm, and desires to take you to a new and higher one daily, if you so choose to follow the leading and guiding of His Spirit. So basically, the things that you used to do in your past life, which really wasn’t much of a life but resembled death (separated from God), are now passed away and all things are becoming new, including the places and people you associate with.

2 Corinthians 5:16-18 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. (17) Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (18) And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; (KJV)

So, one day you are walking along a path that was dictated by the things of this world, then the next thing you know you have entered an entirely different realm of thinking, one where things that seem impossible are now possible because you have tapped into a new and unlimited source of love, joy, and peace, things you never knew existed before your conversion. Is your life still new, are you walking in the newness of the life of Christ that God would desire for you to walk in, or have you fallen back into the realm of the flesh, where the possible is now fading and you are settling for the old again?

Hebrews 11:5-6 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. (6) But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. (KJV)

Enoch was translated that he should not see death, and so is each and every believer who comes to the Lord to hear God’s message of faith through Jesus Christ. With all that God has made available to you the believer, are you taking the time to hear that message by being still and knowing He is God, or are you still looking for your answer here in this fallen realm which is labeled as the impossible?

Ephesians 2:4-6 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, (5) Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) (6) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: (KJV)

Think of your time in prayer, studying the Word, just communicating thanks to our Father, this is what is being referred to as being raised up and allowed to sit together with Christ to hear this message of faith. In other words, you have been translated, well, spiritually for now, and some day there will be a total change that takes place, but for today, right now, you have been raised or translated as well. After all, how else could you hear God and His message unless you enter into His realm by ceasing from your own works and give ear to His Word of life? You have been raised to a higher standard; a life that was influenced by the lusts of your flesh is now influenced by the message being delivered by Christ so that you can walk a path that is pleasing to God as well. Our Lord came so that you would have life and have it more abundantly, and so that you should not have to see death either, the second death that separates man from God for eternity.

John 10:9-10 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. (10) The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. (KJV)

God has an open door policy; in fact, that is why He sent His Son so that we could be raised from our dead past and partake of that new life that He has provided abundantly for all that are willing to follow His lead. Without entering into His realm and hearing His personal message that He has for each and every believer, then it is impossible to please Him. The thief comes to steal your attention to the things of God by trying to distract your hearing and keep you stuck in this fallen world, which then kills the new growth within you by cutting off the line of communication which then leads to eternal destruction for those that continue on this path. So a person that should have been partaking of a new life in Christ, having been given access to the things above, has now chosen and settled for the things below, below the standard God would have them operate in.

Galatians 2:16-18 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. (17) But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid. (18) For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor. (KJV)

It is vital that once you have been raised up and are now seated in heavenly places, that you stay seated and not fall from grace, or allow the devil to kick the chair out from underneath you. Trying to build a foundation on things that don’t work (like the old law and its rituals) will have someone falling away again just as quickly as they were translated. Don’t just limit the word ‘translation’ to the rapture when the Church is taken away before the tribulation period, but rather see yourself translated as well and hear the Spiritual similarities between you and Enoch, and you will find that the Word becomes more real and alive, personal would be another way of describing it also. God bless and stay seated.
