An Enlightening Doctrine
John 7:16-18 Jesus answered them, and
said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. (17) If any man will do
his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I
speak of myself. (18) He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory:
but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no
unrighteousness is in him. (KJV)
You know, if you go somewhere to hear the
word of God whether a Bible study or church service, you should be going to
hear truth, something that will further enlighten you to the things of the
Spirit and not the flesh. For myself I am not going to hear someone tell me
all the things they claim they are doing for God, but rather I am going to
hear what the Lord has done, and desires to do spiritually. The point is,
when you hear more about individual testimonies, more about the pastor and
less about Christ that would be a sure sign that the doctrine and the
message is more centered on man and his works and not on the work our Lord
desires to do for His people.
Romans 1:15-17 So, as much as in me is, I
am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also. (16) For I am
not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto
salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the
Greek. (17) For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to
faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. (KJV)
Paul the Apostle was used of God in a
mighty way because he delivered a message based on Christ, and not himself.
It’s the gospel, the teaching of the good news of Christ (who was in Paul),
that is where the real power is because it is through Christ that God will
reveal His plan of salvation to His people. The just or justified will now
live by faith, hearing the message of God through Christ, and then walking
in agreement to what He is asking. The more Paul was able to preach and
teach Christ the more powerful the message was, as well as the opposition.
1 Corinthians 2:1-5 And I, brethren, when
I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring
unto you the testimony of God. (2) For I determined not to know any thing
among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. (3) And I was with you in
weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. (4) And my speech and my
preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration
of the Spirit and of power: (5) That your faith should not stand in the
wisdom of men, but in the power of God. (KJV)
Paul was a walker, not just some loud
mouth talker. He not only knew how to teach the gospel of Christ, but was
able to demonstrate it as well in Spirit and power. How powerful is the
message you are delivering today; is there some real substance to it, some
eye opening truth that will build the people up, or is it more of a self
serving one that you are trying to build up your own following with? Paul
came to the congregations with the desire to know how much they have
allowed Christ to manifest in their walk by crucifying their own lusts and
desires. A simple truth; a simple doctrine and gospel which would enlighten
them to the realm of the Spirit, no longer pointing them to any man.
1 Corinthians 1:22-24 For the Jews
require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: (23) But we preach Christ
crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
(24) But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power
of God, and the wisdom of God. (KJV)
You know, when you go to a meeting or
watch a program on TV, are you looking for some super charged person who is
putting on a show, claiming signs and wonders are taking place? Remember
what our Lord said about those that are seeking a sign, yeah they are
headed in the wrong direction aren’t they? However if someone is preaching
Christ, then they are doing so in the power and wisdom of God, both of
which alludes most of mankind. It’s really that simple; and a sure sign of
a true man of God when the attention and teaching is on Christ and not the
individuals. In fact when many preach and teach just about Jesus the man,
but leave out Christ the Son of God within Him, then they are leaving out
the power and wisdom as well; which is neither wise nor has much substance
does it?
Romans 16:17-18 Now I beseech you,
brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the
doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. (18) For they that are such
serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and
fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple. (KJV)
You know, the opposite of preaching Jesus
Christ and being crucified with Him are those that are self serving,
seeking to build up their own organizations and following rather than the
people. You as a believer in Christ should know the difference; and rather
than supporting these two bit hucksters in their folly you should be
walking away and not giving credence to their false doctrines.
2 Corinthians 4:4-6 In whom the god of
this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light
of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine
unto them. (5) For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and
ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. (6) For God, who commanded the
light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the
light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
(KJV)
Again we see it is only the gospel and
teaching of Christ that will enlighten the people to the things of God,
while anything else is fruitless, vain, and without power or substance. As
we see again in verse 5, they are not preaching about themselves and all
the wonderful works they claim they are doing, but rather Jesus Christ and
what He has done and is willing to do on our behalf to enlighten us to the
realm of the Spirit. The knowledge of God, the only true enlightenment to
the things of His realm are only found in Jesus Christ; so let’s face it
and embrace it.
2 John 1:9-11 Whosoever transgresseth,
and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in
the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. (10) If there
come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your
house, neither bid him God speed: (11) For he that biddeth him God speed is
partaker of his evil deeds. (KJV)
Again instead of embracing all of this other nonsense, let alone lending
your support to it, know and realize that there is only one doctrine, one
teaching, one gospel God gives credence to, and that is simply the doctrine
of Christ. If it is not the doctrine of Christ then it has nothing to do
with God, and neither do you if you choose to continue in all these false
and misleading doctrines which in reality end up blinding you rather than
enlightening you. The doctrine of Christ points you into the realm of the
Spirit so that you can see all the spiritual blessings you have been
blessed with in Christ.
1 Corinthians 9:18-19 What is my reward
then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of
Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel. (19) For
though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all,
that I might gain the more. (KJV)
Oh and P.S., when they spend more time
trying to get into your wallet and not into the heart, that being the heart
of God, that to would be a tell tale sign that it is not the gospel of
Christ either. Good bye, God bless and stay enlightened.
