A Well Known Fact
Galatians 4:9-11 But now, after that ye
have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak
and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage? (10) Ye
observe days, and months, and times, and years. (11) I am afraid of you,
lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain. (KJV)
The Spirit is willing, the flesh is weak,
and unable to comprehend let alone do those things that would be pleasing
to our Lord. One of the weakest things people turn back to, is other people;
which sad to say involves many Christians. After all it is mankind and his
fallen carnal nature that comes up with all these dead useless rituals and
holidays, claiming they are special to God as well. The question you need
to ask and have answered for yourself is, not how well known are the many
others who claim they know God are, but rather how well known am I to Him
personally? Being the fact that He has the final say on whether or not you
enter into His eternal joy; that would be somewhat of a concern to say the
least.
Matthew 22:11-14 And when the king came
in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding
garment: (12) And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not
having a wedding garment? And he was speechless. (13) Then said the king to
the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into
outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. (14) For many
are called, but few are chosen. (KJV)
Before you decide to follow the crowd
because many are doing it, you may want to double check to see where the
many are headed. Though many have been called, somewhere along the line
they got sidetracked, mostly by their own works and not what the Lord was asking
of them. We see once again a parable involving an individual who thought he
knew the Lord, only to find out in the end the Lord didn’t acknowledge him
as one of His. Although many do get called, the Bible says it is only a few
that are really chosen, and that would be by God and not man. It’s the many
that answer man’s calling and interpretation of what they think is
salvation, while only a few are willing to lay down their lives and worship
our Lord in Spirit and in truth. The only way you are going to be known by
the Lord is if you operate in His realm which is spiritual, because without
faith it is impossible to please Him, which is why ‘many’ fall away from
grace.
Luke 10:1-2 After these things the Lord
appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face
into every city and place, whither he himself would come. (2) Therefore
said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few:
pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth
labourers into his harvest. (KJV)
The Lord’s harvest is truly great,
something that will last for an eternity; but alas how few really know the
will of God, and how few are really known of God. There have been ads run
lately on TV concerning the military and how they are looking for a few
good men. Like with the military, there are only a few which will endure to
the end, while the rest will fall away or perish. Some don’t make it
through boot camp, which basically what they do is break you of your old
unhealthy habits and build you up again their way, a way so that you can
live and survive the battles ahead. So how well do you know the Lord’s
chain of command, and how well known are you by our spiritual Commander?
2 Peter 2:1-3 But there were false
prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among
you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord
that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. (2) And many
shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth
shall be evil spoken of. (3) And through covetousness shall they with
feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time
lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not. (KJV)
Remember, we began this study talking
about one of the weak things people observe, that being other people. Well
once again we see what happens to the many; because many didn’t make
serving our Lord a priority, so therewith what measure they gave His way is
coming back their way, which is why they are weak, unprofitable, and no
longer known or of service to our Lord. So again, before you go jumping on
these popular bandwagons because many are doing it take a good long hard
look at where the many are headed and why they are headed that way, and then
ask yourself, is that where you really want to end up?
1 John 4:1-3 Beloved, believe not every
spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false
prophets are gone out into the world. (2) Hereby know ye the Spirit of God:
Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of
God: (3) And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in
the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye
have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. (KJV)
So how does one identify these false
prophets; because once again I see that it says many not a few are
antichrist. Well let me put it to you in this way, if you don’t know the
name of the Son and come to a working knowledge of Him then the Lord won’t
know your name come the day of judgment. Many acknowledge Jesus of
Nazareth, but only a few know who Christ is, the Spirit that worked in Jesus
of Nazareth is the same one that should be leading you as well.
1 John 4:4-6 Ye are of God, little
children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you,
than he that is in the world. (5) They are of the world: therefore speak
they of the world, and the world heareth them. (6) We are of God: he that
knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know
we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. (KJV)
Why do so many people pray in the name of
Jesus and leave out Christ? Christ is not a title people! it is a name, the
only name under heaven where by we can be saved; thus the term antichrist;
thus the reason why the enemy opposes that name. We are of God, we are
known of God because we rely on that Spirit of Christ within us, which is
greater than anything or anyone in the fallen realm of mankind.
2 Corinthians 2:15-17 For we are unto God
a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:
(16) To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the
savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things? (17) For
we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but
as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ. (KJV)
How does the Lord view your life today;
is it something sweet, or does it have the stench of death? In order to be
acceptable in our Lord’s sight it needs to be in Christ, allowing His Spirit
of sincerity to work through you. When the Lord looks your way today is He
seeing one of the few He approves of, which is Christ in you the hope of
glory, or is He seeing some stranger following a bunch of other strangers
heading for an eternal ditch?
