A Real Blessing

Ephesians 1:3-4 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: (4) According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: (KJV)

Do you really know what a blessing is, and how blessed we are, and all the real blessings we have access to? No, I am not talking about some new car, or a pile of money some hot shot two bit preacher promised if you sent him money, I am talking about something with substance, something that our Lord considers a blessing, something spiritual that is often overlooked and neglected. Man has many cheap imitations of what they consider a blessing, which is limited to the carnal realm, or another word for that is the temporal realm, which also is temporary. Our Lord came that you would have life and have it more abundantly, which is not based on outward possessions but rather taking possession of the love, joy, and peace that is available to you. The more you look above to find what the real blessing is, the less you will be influenced by this dead end realm, which although it promises so much, in the end it delivers destruction and despair.

Colossians 1:9-12 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; (10) That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; (11) Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; (12) Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: (KJV)

The only way you can walk worthy in the sight of God is by having an insight into His realm, which is brought forth through a spiritual understanding of what His will is. With all that is available to you through the Spirit and what it took to provide us access to this realm, have you set your affection on the things above, or do you still think you can find the answer below, which is well below the standard God would have you operate in? By having this personal insight into the realm of the Spirit it will strengthen you and give you the ability to endure unto the end even despite some longsuffering, and it can be handled joyfully because you understand why it is happening. It’s only by this wisdom which is from above and a spiritual understanding will you continue to be a partaker of the inheritance God has for His people; by walking in the light of the glorious gospel of Christ which is enlightening you to the things from above.

2 Corinthians 4:1-3 Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; (2) But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. (3) But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: (KJV)

Again we see the reminder that our duty is to present the truth, like with the mail man who delivers a message, what happens after that is out of his hands. In order for you to see clearly into the realm of the Spirit you have to come clean with God, and remove any barrier of dishonesty before you will be used of our Lord. But alas, if the true meaning of the word of God is still hidden to others it is because they are lost, on a path the Lord did not send them on, but rather one where they think they can hide.

2 Corinthians 4:4-6 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. (5) For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. (6) For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. (KJV)

It takes a spiritual light to enlighten us to the realm of God, and this light gives us the knowledge of Jesus Christ so that we can see clearly for ourselves the true meaning of the word of God. What is blinding too many are their carnal minds, because their affection is set more on the things of this life than on the life of God which is in Christ. So present the message, be an example of the believers, and don’t be discouraged if you don’t get the reaction you think you should to the message you bring. It’s not your fault if they choose to stay in the realm of darkness instead of the light.

Luke 10:23-24 And he turned him unto his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see: (24) For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them. (KJV)

Do you realize how blessed you are to have access to the things of the Spirit, as well as how many of God’s prophets would have given anything to see it as well, which by the way many did give their lives for the gospel’s sake. The Old Testament prophets could only speak about the spiritual blessings that would be afforded to God’s people once the sacrifice was paid for mankind, and then God’s spirit would be poured out upon all flesh. With that in mind, are you truly seeking the spiritual blessings that are available to you, or are you like the many who are still seeking temporal things thinking that will provide the answer, you know like lotteries?

1 Peter 1:10-13 Of which salvation the prophets have inquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: (11) Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. (12) Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into. (13) Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; (KJV)

The revelation of Jesus Christ is what will give you access to the truth of God’s word; enlightening you and providing you the answer to the mystery of the gospel. These Old Testament people would have given anything to see the things we see. Now the question is, how willing are you to look into the realm of the Spirit to find all the spiritual blessings that are freely afforded to you? A spiritual blessing is what will last for eternity, while the blessings of this world will end up in moth balls and rusted away. Which blessings do you truly treasure today, the spiritual or the carnal? Because in the end, there is only One real blessing that has eternal substance, while anything else is just a cheap imitation.
