A Perfect Answer
1 Corinthians 13:9-11 For we know in
part, and we prophesy in part. (10) But when that which is perfect is come,
then that which is in part shall be done away. (11) When I was a child, I
spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I
became a man, I put away childish things. (KJV)
Not only does the Lord have a perfect
answer for your life and what it takes to mature and grow up into Him, but
He also expects us to have that answer as well to give to any that would
ask of the reason of the hope within us. How would you ever know what that
answer is unless you learn to go to the Source for yourself and hear it
personally, as well as putting it into practice? Up until the time of
Christ mankind was limited in their understanding and only knew partially,
as well as speaking partially, or limited by their own understanding. But
now that Christ has come and is seated at the right hand of the Father
mediating His plan of salvation to any that would seek Him, it is expected
of us that we are able to give the Lord’s perfect answer as well.
Proverbs 16:1-3 The preparations of the
heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD. (2) All the
ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits.
(3) Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.
(KJV)
If you notice, the word ‘answer’ is
singular, which means there is only one answer that is fitting, and it
better be coming from the Lord. But how would you ever know this unless you
take the time to hear His voice, and know and not just guess. By our words
we will either be justified or condemned, which means our words and the
Lord’s had better be one in the same. Like we spoke about yesterday
concerning immature Christians, many are more apt to hold to their pastor
or a denominational doctrine rather than taking the time personally to hear
the doctrine of Christ; you know, the only one God acknowledges as His?
After all, God sent us a perfect gift from above in the form of His Son so
that we could share this perfect gift with others. So in order for you to
know the answer you need to be prepared and ready, having taken the time to
hear it first hand from Him.
Isaiah 50:4-5 The Lord GOD hath given me
the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season
to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear
to hear as the learned. (5) The Lord GOD hath opened mine ear, and I was
not rebellious, neither turned away back. (KJV)
Verse 4 is specific in pointing out that
I should know how to speak the Word and provide the Lord’s answer to any
that are weary. The Bible says we should seek first the kingdom of God and
His righteousness, or right standing with Him, then we will have all that
is needed. Is hearing the Lord first thing in your day or in any situation
your first priority, not only for yourself but for any that would come
along seeking? In essence that is what you will have to stand before God
and give an account of; what you did with His plan of salvation, and were
your words Spirit and life or were they just idle useless and dead. Some
people fall asleep at times spiritually, that is why in verse 4 the Lord
uses the term ‘waking the ear’, which for us we know is spiritual, having
our spiritual senses exercised discerning good from evil. Are you ready to
give God’s answer to any and all that cross your path today? Unless you
have taken the time to hear it personally from the Lord and not some second
hand script from mankind that would be a ‘no’.
1 Peter 3:15-17 But sanctify the Lord God
in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that
asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: (16)
Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of
evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation
in Christ. (17) For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer
for well doing, than for evil doing. (KJV)
The word ‘ready’ means to be prepared;
and as we notice the Lord requires His people to be ready always, not just
on certain days that man thinks are special. Be ready also that as you give
a life giving response from above there will be opposition from below,
because the more you speak words of life the more the enemy will try and
discredit the message as well as the messenger. So be ready and prepared,
no matter which way it goes, because as enjoyable as it is to see the
Spirit move and bring life to those we share with, it is not as pleasant to
deal with those that seek to justify their lower fallen natures rather than
hear how to overcome them. It is your duty and responsibility as a believer
in Christ to be ready to give His answer so that you can get His answer
when you seek to enter His eternal realm.
Matthew 19:20-22 The young man saith unto
him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet? (21)
Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast,
and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and
follow me. (22) But when the young man heard that saying, he went away
sorrowful: for he had great possessions. (KJV)
Again we see a perfect opportunity come
along, and how our Lord was able to give the answer that would make this
man perfect, more mature in the things of God. Keep in mind people, you are
not responsible for what they do with the message, but rather your
responsibility is to present the truth and then let them deal with it. Many
times people get preconceived notions on how they think people will respond
especially when they know they presented the truth. So don’t take it
personal if someone doesn’t follow through, but rather deliver the message
and stay out of the way. It’s like a doctor that prescribes the medicine to
a patient, as long as he gives the right diagnosis it’s not his fault if
they don’t take the medicine. Like the old saying, “he who is his own
doctor has a fool for a patient”. Spiritually the same holds true as well,
when the creation thinks they know better than the Creator that too is
foolish. You need to be operating in that perfect mature realm of the
Spirit in order to give the perfect answer.
Proverbs 15:23-24 A man hath joy by the
answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it! (24)
The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath.
(KJV)
How good and effective the answer is when
it truly comes from the Lord; it brings liberty to the captives, those that
are stuck in the realm of the flesh. The answer from above will bring peace
so that the hearer can be set free from the influence of hell. It brings
maturity to the hearer so that they can put away childish things and grow
up in the Lord.
Proverbs 15:28 The heart of the righteous
studieth to answer: but the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things.
(KJV)
Are you ready today to give a perfect answer
to any that would ask? Have you studied the word of God to show yourself
approved unto Him and not man? The Spirit is willing, which means ready,
while the flesh is weak, unable to hear the Lord’s answer. Which realm are
you operating in and which answer will you give, the perfect one from above
or some cheap imitation from below?
