The Dividing Line
Proverbs 11:1-3 A false balance is
abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is his delight. (2) When pride
cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom. (3) The integrity
of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors
shall destroy them. (KJV)
With everything that we do in life there
is a dividing line, like a highway you are either on the right side where
you need to be driving, or you have crossed the line and have put yourself
as well as others in danger. You need to be awake and alert always, so that
once you were born again and crossed over from the flesh to the Spirit, you
would stay in the right lane so to speak spiritually. As we see
illustrated, pride will cause one to drift and cross the line again, which
if not corrected could end up in a wreck.
1 Timothy 6:8-11 And having food and
raiment let us be therewith content. (9)
But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and
into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and
perdition. (10) For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while
some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves
through with many sorrows. (11) But thou, O man of God, flee these things;
and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
(KJV)
Here is a biggie, people; one that we all
have had our roots planted in, in the past, a love for something carnal
that we thought could bring peace. Basically, we were driving on the wrong
side of the road heading for a ditch with the rest of the blind carnal
drivers that we were following after in our past, those that pretended to
be ministers of the Lord. We all need to get this thing cut off, uprooted,
and then keep a watch on our garden so that this deadly noxious weed
doesn’t take root again and try to re-grow back into our new life in
Christ. Hey, isn’t this one of the biggest turn offs that we see today
concerning so called ministers of God, those that just keep begging for
money with their silly telethons and pity party sermons of how much more
they think they could do for God if the people would ante up?
Matthew 6:22-24 The light of the body is
the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of
light. (23) But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of
darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is
that darkness! (24) No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate
the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise
the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. (KJV)
What kind of vision do you have, and what
eyes are you looking through, the eyes of man which are never satisfied, or
the eyes of the Lord which is the only realm that you will find contentment
and peace? You know, instead of rightly dividing the word of God and being
more than a conqueror, many have allowed the things of this life to distort
their Spiritual vision and end up divided by double vision; unstable, and
unable to receive their peaceable answer from God.
Luke 16:13-15 No servant can serve two
masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he
will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and
mammon. (14) And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these
things: and they derided him. (15) And he said unto them, Ye are they which
justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which
is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God. (KJV)
Let me give you this hint, the dividing
line so to speak, so that you will know if you are on the right path, and
more importantly in the right lane of our Lord. Those things that are a big
hit with mankind, well, that would be a big red flag, something that is not
of the Lord. Those things that don’t appeal to mankind, looking inward to
find peace, yeah, that would be the place that you would want to operate in
today.
