The Bear Market

John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. (KJV)

All those thoughts that you had of how you could witness to people and give or bear record to the Word of God, well, according to the Word it is of no value to our Lord. The most important part of the equation we need to know is that the words that we speak are Spirit, and are coming from a Spiritual life giving source. While many today think that they can help God out by worldly marketing strategies, simple straight forward truth from God Himself through Jesus Christ is what will bring life to yourself, as well as those around you.

Romans 10:2-4 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. (3) For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. (4) For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. (KJV)

If it is not the doctrine of Christ, then the record that they are giving account of isn’t coming from above, but rather below the standard that our Lord intended. There are many who do truly have a zeal for God, but it is not in accordance or agreement with His Word. These people and all their religious beliefs and rituals are of the flesh, basically, things passed down from generation to generation and profits them nothing. Once you become acquainted with Christ personally it is the end of the law and its dead rituals, and you now live a life of faith in what He is directing, and not of a fallen mankind and their limited, idle, profitless way of thinking.

John 8:13-14 The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true. (14) Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go. (KJV)

God’s people are described throughout the Bible as being a bit peculiar, different from the world and those that hold to the carnal way of thinking. Some may challenge you at times, making it appear that you think you know it all, or why is your way right and not others? The important thing to know for yourself is that the doctrine that you give testimony to is not yours, and that the only reason you know for sure is because you are in agreement with the only person who has ever been right, someone that walked this earth and did not ever fall into sin. It is so very vital that you get to know the Lord personally for yourself, so that you can know and not just guess that you are one of His and that the Word that you bear record to came from Him.

1 John 1:1-4 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; (2) (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) (3) That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. (4) And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full. (KJV)

You know, there is difference between joy and happiness. Happiness is based on carnal things, happenings which excite the flesh. The joy of the Lord which is our strength is Spiritual, not something that comes and goes, but is available always. So when you are out and about in the market place today of this fallen world, what are you bearing record to; and is it something that will be long lasting, or will you sell your soul for a fleeting moment of fun?
