Granting Permission
James 4:1-3 From whence come wars and
fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in
your members? (2) Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and
cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. (3) Ye
ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon
your lusts. (KJV)
So where is all that strife and
contention coming from today? All that noise and confusion is drowning out
the voice that you should be giving ear to. God gave us a gift, His Son, so
that we could walk the same path that He did which would result in eternal
life, not eternal strife people. Did you really take the time to ask the
Lord first when seeking an answer, or were you walking more by sight than
faith? Was the answer you were looking for something that would be
beneficial to your Spiritual life, or was it something that would draw you
away because your desire was being drawn away by something carnal?
James 4:4-6 Ye adulterers and
adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with
God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
(5) Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth
in us lusteth to envy? (6) But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith,
God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. (KJV)
Well, so much for the grace of God;
instead of seeking first His kingdom which is not of this world you sought
something else that was going to keep you out of His will. For those of you
that have been married, or even engaged in a long relationship, adultery is
a killer and can put an end to something that began in love, but turned to
lust. Spiritually the same principle holds true; so anytime we step outside
the realm of grace, well, we then entered a realm of disgrace, with a lot
of things happening, none of which are good.
Titus 2:11-12 For the grace of God that
bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, (12) Teaching us that, denying
ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and
godly, in this present world; (KJV)
You know, if it is God’s will that none
should perish but that all come to repentance, then would it not be fitting
to say that He has given every man that opportunity to see and hear? That
conscience of yours that was speaking to you, even before your conversion,
yeah, that was the grace of God giving you a heads up to something that
would not bring peace to your life. However, as we look around us in this
fallen world, many have ignored this grace and have grown cold and callous
as far as love is concerned, and are waxing worse and worse in deceptions
and lies, trying to call what is evil good and good evil.
Psalms 98:2-3 The LORD hath made known
his salvation: his righteousness hath he openly shewed in the sight of the
heathen. (3) He hath remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of
Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God. (KJV)
Yeah I know there are those that claim that
they have to go all around the world to preach this gospel, and that if you
don’t give your money then it’s your fault if they don’t go. The question
you need to answer for yourself today is, ‘are you in the place that our
Lord would have you to be concerning His body of believers’? In everything that
you do, did you seek first His will, letting His peace rule, or did you
proceed ahead hoping that He is on board with your decisions? God
graciously granted us permission to enter His realm by grace through faith,
and it is only by this grace that you will continue in good standing with
Him.
