Chosen

John 15:16-19 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. (17) These things I command you, that ye love one another. (18) If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. (19) If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. (KJV)

Strong’s definition for ‘chosen’:

1586  eklegomai (ek-leg'-om-ahee); middle voice from 1537 and 3004 (in its primary sense); to select: KJV-- make choice, choose (out), chosen.

Have you ever heard someone make the statement “I found God”? Well, when you really stop and think about it, the question is “was God lost”? Did you actually find God when you were reborn into His realm, or was it God that found you when you called out to Him in a humble contrite manner? The reality is that there is a big difference between who man calls and ordains, and those that answer the calling of our Lord. Those who God calls know their ordination is Spiritual, not some piece of paper that man gives out. Remember the letter kills; it’s in the realm of the Spirit which is where you will find life.

1John 2:15-17 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. (16) For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. (17) And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. (KJV)

Those that are truly chosen of God do not seek the Lord in the outward realm, or what is described as the world. The chosen people that God ordains are not concerned with titles like Rabbi, Reverend, or any other things that man has dreamed up and concocted. The real chosen of God seek to please Him, and Him only; while the people pleasers and ear ticklers will find themselves at the back of the line of applicants.

1John 4:1-3 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. (2) Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: (3) And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. (KJV)

There is a simple way to know the calling of those many that have heard the call but did not respond in Spirit, and according to truth. Those that do not have an understanding of the doctrine of Christ are seeking their evidence of God’s existence in the outward realm, promising people liberty when they are still the servants of corruption.

1John 4:4-6 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. (5) They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. (6) We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. (KJV)

Those that God has chosen to deliver His message of truth are seeking the things above, not the things down here in this fallen realm. Those that God truly has chosen will be looked at and thought of as being a bit peculiar, not like all the other worldly religious people who profess to know God but in works or lifestyle deny Him. Do you know your calling today, and are you responding the way that our Lord intended and chose for you to answer, in Spirit and in truth?
