Approved Of God
Hebrews 5:12-14 For when for the time ye
ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the
first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of
milk, and not of strong meat. (13) For every one that useth milk is
unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. (14) But strong
meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of
use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. (KJV)
All this week, we have been on the topic
of growing up and maturing in the things of our Lord. Cutting off the old
strongholds of the flesh by the Word of God, which is sharper than any of
man’s devices. As we see illustrated above, we see those that have been
hanging on to old things, not letting go of childish thoughts and ways.
Because of this rebellion, they do not know the difference between what is
of God and what is of man, a place that you do not want to be in.
Isaiah 5:20-21 Woe unto them that call
evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for
darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! (21) Woe unto
them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight! (KJV)
Do you know for yourself what is of God
and what is not? Many are like children, doing what pleases self and not
God. Hey, look what they did to God’s own Son, accusing the only man that
lived a life without sin of evil. Are you sure you are on the path that you
need to be on today, walking with the people that God would have you
associating with? Remember that thing about evil communications corrupting
any of the good morals you may have begun with?
Proverbs 13:20 He that walketh with wise
men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed. (KJV)
Even the Lord’s people are destroyed for
a lack of knowledge, despite the zeal that they may have had for Him. Many
times this manifests in the form of those that claim to be of God but in reality
are just false prophets.
Philippians 1:9-11 And this I pray, that
your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; (10)
That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and
without offence till the day of Christ; (11) Being filled with the fruits
of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of
God. (KJV)
The word ‘approve’ in verse 10, means to
discern. One of the biggest offences to our Lord is those people that don’t
take the time to let Him show them personally what is of God and what is of
man. Many are more apt to seek the approval of man over that of God, and
what should have been an asset to our Lord ends up to offend instead.
Ephesians 5:9-11 (For the fruit of the
Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) (10) Proving what
is acceptable unto the Lord. (11) And have no fellowship with the
unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. (KJV)
In everything that you do, do you take
the time to make sure that it lines up with the word of God, or are the
reasons that you do things is because many others are doing it that way?
The more you learn of God, the more you will find out how much higher His
thoughts and ways are, and how much it contradicts what man tries to pawn
off as truth.
Galatians 1:15-16 But when it pleased
God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace, (16)
To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen;
immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood: (KJV)
God was pleased with Paul when he (Paul)
let go of Saul and his old way of thinking, and was more willing to take
counsel from above by letting God separate and cut off the carnal ties; it
was then that God was able to reveal more of Himself personally to Paul.
Would you like the Lord to reveal Himself more to you also? Then you will
need to seek more of what is approved of God, and less of what man thinks
of you. God bless Church, and continue letting the sword of the Spirit cut
a path for you to walk on, the only one that leads to eternal life.
