A Reliable Source
Hebrews 11:1-2 Now faith is the substance
of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (2) For by it the
elders obtained a good report. (KJV)
Ever see an article that is written about
something that took place; something that may have been a bit mysterious
and was not clearly understood; then at the conclusion of the article the
writer reveals the fact that the information came from a reliable source,
someone credible who witnessed what took place first hand? You as a
Christian are expected to give an accurate account of salvation, so that if
any would ask of you this day what is the hope of your calling you can give
the correct response. If you notice, the real evidence of God and His
existence is not something seen or found in the outward realm, but now you
must rely on a different source if you are going to find as well as inherit
eternal life.
Strong’s definition for ‘substance’:
5287
hupostasis (hoop-os'-tas-is); from a compound of 5259 and 2476; a setting
under (support), i.e. (figuratively) concretely, essence, or abstractly,
assurance (objectively or
subjectively): KJV-- confidence, confident, person, substance.
John 14:16-18 And I will pray the Father,
and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for
ever; (17) Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because
it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth
with you, and shall be in you. (18) I will not leave you comfortless: I
will come to you. (KJV)
You know, while you were running around
looking for a reliable source to bring you comfort and strengthen your
case, yeah, He was right there inside of you all along. Many of those so
called men of God will keep you looking to outward things and what they
consider a blessing, when you have the truth inside of you there for the
taking. After all, if you are not receiving the witness from above today,
then what makes you think that the witness from above is going to allow you
access into His kingdom when you didn’t allow Him access into yours?
John 15:26-27 But when the Comforter is
come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth,
which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: (27) And ye also
shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning. (KJV)
This is why our Father sent His Son, so
that there could be reconciliation between us and God, because of the
sacrifice provided through Him. With all that has been made available to
you through the Spirit, are you letting this Spirit bear witness to your
fallen one, so that you can go out and about and give a solid testimony to
the truth? What a sad day it will be for many who will find out all that
was provided for them, all that was right in front of them there for the
taking, then to only find out that they were duped by an unreliable source
that was more self seeking than seeking the Spiritual needs of others.
1 Corinthians 2:9-13 But as it is
written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the
heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. (10)
But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth
all things, yea, the deep things of God. (11) For what man knoweth the things
of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God
knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. (12) Now we have received, not the
spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the
things that are freely given to us of God. (13) Which things also we speak,
not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost
teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. (KJV)
You know, your purpose for being born,
and the short time you are here on this planet, is so that you can give
testimony to truth, bearing witness to what you hear personally from the
only reliable source located at the right hand of God. The things of God
are described as a mystery, something hidden to the carnal man, but openly
revealed to the Spiritual one. So today, right now, are you able to bear
witness to the only reliable source from above?
