To And Fro
1 Timothy 2:4-5 Who will have all men to
be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. (5) For there is one
God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; (KJV)
Folks what you definitely need to realize
in your quest of salvation is that, wherever and however the Lord got
through to you, that was just the beginning. Now it is vital that you
continue in your search for truth by coming to a working Spiritual
knowledge, which you will only find in Christ. Many of God’s people get
stonewalled, they go along in their walk with the Lord but then they hit a
brick wall, and rather than find a way to overcome these obstacles that the
enemy would throw their way, they end up settling in on the fallen side in
the realm of the flesh.
Job 1:6-7 Now there was a day when the
sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also
among them. (7) And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then
Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and
from walking up and down in it. (KJV)
You know many people are of the
assumption that the enemy who is described as Satan is already in hell. But
your Bible will show you that he is described as the prince of the power of
the air, trying to lie and mislead the believers. The enemy does not have
the power or the ability to pull you out of the will of God, but rather he uses
cheap, slick, and cunning devices to get you to exchange the truth for a
lie.
Ephesians 4:14-15 That we henceforth be
no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of
doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie
in wait to deceive; (15) But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into
him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: (KJV)
See what happens when one does not get
grounded and stay grounded in the Word of God? Yeah, they stagger around
seeking truth, mostly focusing their attention in this fallen realm rather
than seeking the things above where Christ sits on the right hand of God
ready, willing, and able to show them personally all the Spiritual
blessings that they have been blessed with. But alas so many of God’s
people, even though they have had a born again experience with God, end up
relying on emotions rather than the Spirit to build them up. They that are
in the flesh are not pleasing to God.
Psalms 107:27-28 They reel to and fro,
and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wit's end. (28) Then they
cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their
distresses. (KJV)
You don’t have to wait until you are at
wit’s end to seek the Lord; in fact, had you made His kingdom your first
priority you wouldn’t have gone on a spiritual stupor. Had you given ear to
His voice and His Word, you wouldn’t have been going to and fro chasing
some imagination that the enemy told you was the real deal.
1 Peter 5:8-9 Be sober, be vigilant;
because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking
whom he may devour: (9) Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the
same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. (KJV)
Do you see now why we need to continue in
the faith, seeking the knowledge of God for ourselves? How are you going to
offer up any resistance if you don’t have your shield of faith up and
operational? The point is that salvation is something that you need to
pursue and continue in if you truly desire to inherit your eternal reward.
I don’t care what kind of commitment you made at some emotional alter call,
that was just the beginning, but it can be the end also if you think that
is going to get you home.
