The Inward Man
2 Corinthians 4:16 For which cause we
faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed
day by day. (KJV)
In order to be a new creation in Christ
you will have to put aside the old man so that you can walk in newness of
life. You will discover in your search, not just about the Lord but about
yourself also if you are willing to take an honest look inwardly, the truth.
Luke 11:39-40 And the Lord said unto him,
Now do ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the platter; but
your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness. (40) Ye fools, did not
he that made that which is without make that which is within also? (KJV)
The problem with outward things is that
it is more about appearance than reality; spending too much time and effort
covering things up rather than looking inward to find the true joy and
peace that is in Christ. Yeah, and when you still see people that think an
outward cleansing is the answer, you know like water baptisms, well that
just isn’t going to cut it with our Lord either.
2 Corinthians 6:17-7:1 Wherefore come out
from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the
unclean thing; and I will receive you, (18) And will be a Father unto you,
and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. (7:1) Having
therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all
filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
(KJV)
You know, some of these religious people that
you have been associating with, ahhh, it’s just not going to get you to
that inward man you need to be dealing with in an open and honest way. Once
you separate from these fleshly people, who only understand carnal rituals,
then you will be able to experience some real cleansing from the inside,
the realm that our Lord would desire to see you operate in.
Hebrews 9:13-14 For if the blood of bulls
and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean,
sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: (14) How much more shall the
blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without
spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
(KJV)
Haven’t you fooled around enough in a
dead end realm, not getting the real results that you were looking for? By
staying in the Word of God, and allowing His living waters to cleanse and
keep you clean, that is where you will find real peace and contentment with
our Lord.
Psalms 51:6-7 Behold, thou desirest truth
in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know
wisdom. (7) Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I
shall be whiter than snow. (KJV)
Our Lord looks at the heart and judges by
the motives, not by outward things or appearances, facades that man thinks
will impress Him. Learn to be honest with God and yourself, knowing who you
really are as well as, who you really are not. Don’t think that you have to
be someone that you are not or someone else in order to be accepted of our
Lord; because our Lord loves you unconditionally for who you are…that new
creation in Christ. Continue in the truth and the truth will continue to
set you free, focusing more on the inward man so that you won’t be left on
the outside. God bless and keep the faith.
