Receive Instruction
Psalms 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my
feet, and a light unto my path. (KJV)
Psalms 119:105
[Thy word is a lamp] This is illustrated
thus by Solomon, Prov 6:23: "The commandment is a lamp; and the law is
light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life." God's word is
a candle which may be held in the hand to give us light in every dark place
and chamber; and it is a general light shining upon all his works, and upon
all our ways. (from Adam Clarke's Commentary)
The counsel of God will continually
enlighten the eyes of our understanding and enable us to continue in the
way of righteousness. It will keep us on the path of the just which is as
the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. The
straight and narrow path that leads home is that just path which is lit up
for us to follow as we continue to walk in the law of faith unto the
perfect day.
Are you allowing the Word to enlighten
your path today, to guide your every step? If not, then begin right now, today,
to allow the Holy Spirit which is given unto you to lead and guide you into
all truth, the truth that will set you free and keep you free as you
continue in it. Let God’s counsel open up the way that will illuminate the
truth unto everlasting life.
Let the Word instruct you to: not be
conformed to this world but to be transformed by the renewing of your mind
that you may prove what is that good and perfect will of God; to come out
from among the world, from the ungodly counsel and the way of sinners; as
well as not sit in the seat (or assembly) of those who mock the Word of God
in their unrighteous works that are based on the curse of the old law that
was taken away in Christ (thus they make the cross of Christ of none
effect), and who corrupt the simplicity of the gospel of Christ for filthy
lucre sake. Today, take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her;
for she is thy life.
Psalms 1:1-2 Blessed is the man that
walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of
sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. (2) But his delight is in
the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. (KJV)
So instead of walking in darkness, be
blessed and delight in the law of the Lord, in His law of faith; and
continue to meditate in it day and night; receive instruction which will
keep your path enlightened in the way, the truth, and the life. And you
just may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and
length, and depth, and height; and know the love of Christ, which passeth
knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God unto the
perfect day.
