Living It Up

Hebrews 4:12-13 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (13) Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do. (KJV)

Thayer’s definition for ‘quick’:

2198  zao-

1) to live, to breathe, to be among the living (not lifeless, not dead)

2) to enjoy real life:

a) to have true life that is worthy of the name

b) to be active, blessed, and endless in the kingdom of God

3) to live, that is, to pass life, in the manner of the living and acting of mortals or character

4) living water, having vital power in itself and exerting the same upon the soul

5) metaphorically, to be in full vigor

a) to be fresh, strong, efficient,

b) as adjective: active, powerful, efficacious

Strong’s definition for ‘powerful’:

1756  energes (en-er-gace'); from 1722 and 2041; active, operative: KJV-- effectual, powerful.

Now stop for a moment and ask yourself this question, if the word of God is living and powerful, then what does that make the people who believe and have His Word working within them?  Ahhh, yes, no wonder the enemy does all he can to get you distracted from spending time in the Word daily, and entering into the Lord’s rest or realm and ceasing from your works. This same Word that created the heavens and the earth, the whole universe in fact is alive and real and available to all that have ears and take the time to hear this life giving life changing Word of God which is quite effective to say the least.

Luke 7:12-15 Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her. (13) And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not. (14) And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise. (15) And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother. (KJV)

This same living, powerful Word that brought life to the dead during our Lord’s time here on earth, yeah, it is there for the taking, ready to bring life to any situation you speak to with words that are Spirit and are life. It’s up to you Church, to keep yourself renewed in this life giving Word so that you can allow this powerful, effective, and yes living Word to work on your behalf this day. God bless and hold fast that profession of faith without wavering.
