Friendly Fire

Matthew 24:4-5 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. (5) For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. (KJV)

Ever see a mystery movie where a crime takes place and the perpetrator ends up to be one of their own, or at least one that claimed to be one of theirs? How about war movies, where spies are sent in, those that claim that they are working for one side but are actually working on behalf of the enemy? If you notice in these events that much damage can be done until they are identified and then cast out. Our Lord warned us about this same type of deception also; many times taking place right under the noses of many of His unsuspecting people who should know better, but rather ignore the warnings. This enemy has a name, and the spirit is identified as antichrist, because this spirit comes to steal, kill, and destroy those who are easily willing to exchange the truth for a lie.

Romans 16:17-18 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. (18) For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple. (KJV)

A couple of the definitions of ‘simple’ involve the words unsuspecting, or the term ‘distrusting no one’. Many of God’s people are getting hit with lies and false doctrines, because those that are teaching and preaching these deceptions are disguised as God’s people standing in the pulpits of many of the large congregations. Remember what our Lord said about the many that are called, and yet only a few are really chosen that will present the doctrine of Christ free from manmade additives and things that appeal more to the flesh than to the spirit. Are you watching and praying always, or are you asleep and the one being preyed on instead of prayed for?

2 Corinthians 2:17 For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ. (KJV)

Oh but they have such a big following, and they are on TV preaching to all the world. Well, keep in mind who the prince of the power of the air is, and how these so called men and women of God got on the airwaves.

Thayer’s definition for ‘corrupt’:

2585  kapeleuo-

1) to be a retailer, to peddle

2) to make money by selling anything

a) to get sordid gain by dealing in anything, to do a thing for base gain

b) to "trade" (traffic) in the word of God; to try to get base gain by teaching divine truth

c) to corrupt, to adulterate; peddlers were in the habit of adulterating their commodities for the sake of gain

I don’t recall the Lord ever doing a telethon, or spending so much time of His ministry hitting the people up for money, do you? Our Lord was more concerned with building up people, not buildings and religious organizations. How do you make determinations; is it based more on the outward appearance, or are you able to discern and know when it is the doctrine of Christ or that which is of the antichrist? Friendly fire; not only are many of God’s people getting hit with it from the enemy, but then they are duped into supporting the enemy so that he can reload and continue the assault on mankind. Heed the warning.
