Beam Me Down
Luke 6:41-42 And why beholdest thou the
mote that is in thy brother's eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in
thine own eye? (42) Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let
me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not
the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam
out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote
that is in thy brother's eye. (KJV)
A beam is rather large, while the mote is
more like a speck, much, much smaller. Hey, while you decided to be the
inspector you got caught in the high beams yourself; you know, like a deer
getting blinded by the light just before it gets hit. That’s the way that many
will look on the day of judgment themselves when they get hit with the
reality of not living a life of truth, but rather playing the blame game.
The truth sets one free and puts sin and unbelief behind them, while those
that continue to live a lie, yeah, these obstacles and snares stay right in
front of them, stopping them in their tracks.
Romans 2:15-16 Which shew the work of the
law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and
their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;) (16) In
the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according
to my gospel. (KJV)
While you were running around pointing
fingers at others and making excuses for your own pathetic lifestyle, yeah,
someone was looking at you and able to see what was really going on. We all
as humans have secrets, things that we don’t want others to really know
about, yet things that need to be dealt with. You know Church, if you can’t
go to God or to another member in the body of Christ to seek help and
healing with these things, where else are you going to find the answer, in
the world? Sometimes by you being open and honest concerning things that you
have dealt with rather than making a public proclamation every time you
hear some gossip, well, that would be much more effective and beneficial to
others if they can open up and deal with their own secret faults.
James 1:5-6 If any of you lack wisdom,
let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not;
and it shall be given him. (6) But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering.
For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and
tossed. (KJV)
Strong’s definition for ‘upbraideth’:
3679
oneidizo (on-i-did'-zo); from 3681; to defame, i.e. rail at, chide,
taunt: KJV-- cast in teeth, (suffer)
reproach, revile, upbraid.
Neither the Lord nor any of His real
followers are going to taunt or rail on you for trying to come clean and
deal honestly in real issues that are going on in your walk. Church, it is
ok to ask for some wisdom in something that you are struggling with, either
with the Lord or one of His people. The problem I have seen is, with many
they are more apt to spread gossip and accusations behind someone’s back,
rather than keeping things in prayer and having more one on one open and
honest communication.
Luke 19:20-21 And another came, saying,
Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin: (21)
For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that
thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow. (KJV)
Some people judge God and His ways
according to man’s ways and are afraid to open up to Him personally to find
the answer to their struggles. For some, they think that God is like a
dictator, ready to inflict punishment at every opportunity. While others
that are stuck in dead congregations of so called believers have only seen
people who are more fault finders than helpers of their faith. Do you
desire to beam up to a higher level? Then quit being such a nitpicky and
petty inspector clueless in the flesh, seeing your own faults and
shortcomings in others and then taking your frustrations out on them
because of it.
