What Really Pleases God

Revelation 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. (KJV)

Did you ever wonder what is pleasing to God, and what He takes pleasure in? Well, actually for starters you could consider yourself someone who is pleasing to Him; because after all, that is why you were created. In fact God looked down and saw that everything He made was good, now the question becomes, will you let Him perfect the good work that He has begun in you, like a potter with the clay?

Revelation 12:9-12 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. (10) And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. (11) And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. (12) Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. (KJV)

There were some problems in heaven, the tenants were not happy with their landlord so they got the boot. That angel and the rest of his crew landed here on earth, and have done all that he can to disrupt God’s plan of life for His creation, mankind who now has access to that place that the accuser was kicked out of. Do take notice of the fact that the enemy only has a short time, which when compared to eternity, yeah, we are only given a short time or window of opportunity to please our God so that we can spend eternity with our Father. So what do you take pleasure in, pleasing God or self?

Luke 12:30-32 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things. (31) But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you. (32) Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. (KJV)

Do you really want to know what pleases our Father? When you actually receive the things of the Spirit, those things He had His Son die for, so that He could have fellowship with His created beings again. And again, I know we keep harping on this point, but it is Biblical that it is a little flock, not the many, that are really pleasing our God. Thus the reason and the importance of seeking first the kingdom of God for yourself, so that you are one of the few that are actually pleasing in His sight.

2 Thessalonians 1:11-12 Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power: (12) That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. (KJV)

This is the reason why we were created, and this is the reason why you will continue this relationship eternally, because you chose to please God above and beyond what people thought of you or how peculiar you appear at times.

1 John 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. (KJV)

You know, there is no place that you can go that our Lord doesn’t see you. There is nothing hidden to Him that He doesn’t see right through; you know, like in our youth when we would try and pull a fast one? So what is the real motive of the heart today, and is it what really pleases God?
