Perfect Law Of Liberty

James 1:25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. (KJV)

We talked this week about the word ‘perfect’, and how our Lord would like us to grow up and mature in the realm of the Spirit, making us perfect, complete in Him. The Lord brought us a new law of liberty so that we could be delivered from the old law of sin and death, a bondage that kept us separated from the love of God in Christ. Once we grasp and get a hold of this new life in Christ, it is vital that we don’t look back to the old to find life in something that our Lord said is dead, died, and should stay buried.

Hebrews 7:19 For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God. (KJV)

With something better that we all have access to as believers in Christ, why do so many put their hand to the Lord’s plow in His field for a season and then turn back to the law that could not perfect that new creation that we are in Christ? Christ in you is that better hope, and you better hope that you are in Him because He is the only one that was able to do a complete work on our behalf, living a life without sin so that He could be the perfect sacrifice for all mankind. Oh but how many that are called of God begin their walk in the Spirit, but are no longer chosen of God to deliver His message of liberty because they revert back to the flesh, or some old worn out carnal ordinances.

Hebrews 6:1-2 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, (2) Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. (KJV)

Yeah folks, these people that think that you need to get dunked in water to make your life complete or whole, perfect if you will, well in the old they were baptized in water, however in the new realm or way of life we are baptized with the Holy Ghost, something Spiritual; you know like our Lord who is Spirit, and the only way He can be truly worshipped is in Spirit and in truth? So where are you going to find liberty, freedom?

Galatians 5:1-4 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. (2) Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. (3) For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. (4) Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. (KJV)

How much plainer and simpler can it get people? Yet with the Lord clearly spelling out the real liberty and peace that we have access to, someone perfect who can make us perfect as well, why do so many go back to the graveyard looking for life?

1 John 4:17-18 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. (18) There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. (KJV)

Talk about liberty; there is only one man, one source, that can cast out all fear and doubt of our lower fallen nature and that is Christ in you the only hope of glory. The more you mature in Christ, the less likely you will be swayed and moved by what is going on down here in the fallen realm of mankind and all their fallen religions as well.

Hebrews 10:1-3 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. (2) For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins. (3) But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year. (KJV)

Hebrews 9:9-10 Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience; (10) Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation. (KJV)

I leave you with these verses so that you can ponder it for yourself. I ask you honestly that if you are in a place where they still hold to old outdated laws, is that a place that you will find the liberty in Christ that our Lord intended for His people? If you are in that place where they still hold to carnal ordinances I would seriously consider heading for the exit.

Matthew 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. (KJV)

There is a perfect law of liberty that was intended to make you perfect, mature in Christ. Now go find that answer and don’t let go, no matter who tries to tell you different.
