Only The Truth Will Set One Free

Romans 10:17-18 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (18) But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world. (KJV)

One of the biggest misunderstandings that is going around with many is, thinking that they get more faith if they listen to more of the Word. We have all been given the measure of faith, the same measure that our Lord was given and operated with when He walked this earth. So it is not a matter of getting more faith so to speak, but a matter of seeing and hearing more of what you were given, and how to walk effectively, boldly by what you are hearing according to the inward man, and not being so influenced by the outward any longer.

John 8:31-32 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; (32) And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. (KJV)

You know Church, this hearing thing is a continual process, not just something that you heard in the beginning of your walk, but this needs to become a way of life if you are going to truly inherit eternal life. This truth that God sent His Son to deliver for us sets us free from doubt and fear, the things that our lower nature was in bondage to before our conversion. Your ability to continue in the Word will be based on your hearing, what you allow the Lord to do in and through you personally, not just standing around idly watching others, or just reading scriptures and thinking about how God worked through others and what it would be like to have the Lord working in you as well.

Mark 16:19-20 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. (20) And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen. (KJV)

Thayer’s definition for ‘confirming’:

950  bebaioo- to make firm, to establish, to confirm, to make sure

Is the Lord working with you, because there is no middle ground, we are either with Him or against Him. The Lord will confirm His Word within you so that you can know and not have to guess you are one of His, or wonder and be in doubt if you are on the path that He ordained for you to walk on. It’s a two way street people; the Lord will work with you as you are willing to work with Him, on His turf, in His realm, which is Spiritual and so much different than this fallen realm that we have grown accustomed to in our past.

Mark 4:22-25 For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad. (23) If any man have ears to hear, let him hear. (24) And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given. (25) For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath. (KJV)

In conclusion this week, it all comes down to our hearing, who we are giving ear to, and which realm we are putting more of our trust and confidence in, the outward or the inward. If things seem like they are slipping away, then you will need to stop and take heed as to who and what you are listening to, and know that it is coming from the source above and not below what He intended for you to walk in.

Proverbs 3:26 For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken. (KJV)

Wouldn’t it be a blessing to know that the Lord is your confidence, that when you put your faith and trust in His word of truth you will no longer fall away from grace? God bless people and keep the faith, keeping your Spiritual ears open to His Word of truth that will set and keep you free from doubt and fear.
