Candid Camera
Ephesians 5:13-15
But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for
whatsoever doth make manifest is light. (14) Wherefore he saith, Awake thou
that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. (15)
See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, (KJV)
Strong’s definition
for ‘reproved’:
1651 elegcho (el-eng'-kho); of uncertain
affinity; to confute, admonish: KJV-- convict, convince, tell a fault,
rebuke, reprove.
Lights, camera, action; remember the show
Candid Camera where they would hide a camera and then put people in
situations and record their actions? Well, what we see manifesting can sometimes
be surprising, and enlightening as well. The Lord will shine a Spiritual
light, and show us things in our walk that have been there all along, it’s
just now we are aware of it. Sometimes the Lord will show you things, or
the intentions of the heart of others, those you have been close to but are
not really very edifying to you anymore. It’s not that these things
happened over night, but rather you are seeing it the way that our Lord
sees it so that you can make the necessary changes in how it is dealt with
and cleaned up.
John 3:19-21 And this is the condemnation,
that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than
light, because their deeds were evil. (20) For every one that doeth evil
hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be
reproved. (21) But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds
may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. (KJV)
Ohh my, look where that light is shining
now; smile, you are on candid camera where there is no hiding anymore. So
how are you going to deal with this light, are you going to run and hide,
or will you continue running the race on the path our Lord ordained? We are
in an endurance race, one that leads to eternal life for those that
continue to the end. Remember, it’s those who in an honest and good heart,
keep the Word and bring forth fruit unto perfection; while all the rats
will run for cover when the light is shined their direction.
Proverbs 12:1-2 Whoso loveth instruction
loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish. (2) A good man
obtaineth favour of the LORD: but a man of wicked devices will he condemn. (KJV)
You ever see these shows where they go
under cover and catch people doing things that they know are not right, then
when they are exposed they try to cover their faces and run away? Well, that
is described as brutish, which is another word for stupid. So one needs to
ask themselves honestly, where are you really going to hide where the Lord
won’t see you? So how are you handling the light of the gospel, are you
embracing it or are you trying to run for cover?
Hebrews 12:1-3 Wherefore seeing we also
are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside
every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run
with patience the race that is set before us, (2) Looking unto Jesus the
author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him
endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand
of the throne of God. (3) For consider him that endured such contradiction
of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. (KJV)
Have you considered the Lord and His way
much better than yours? Are you looking above for your answer to eternal
life, or are you running in circles? Are you in this race for the long haul,
willing to endure to the end? I pray that you are, because at the end of
this race will be a highlight reel followed by a crowning to those that do.
