A Lost Cause

John 8:42-44 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. (43) Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word. (44) Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. (KJV)

Our Lord came to seek and save those that were lost, like sheep in the wilderness, we were all gone astray until we were found. The enemy of our Lord is a lost cause, even though at one time he actually held a position that was pleasing to God, but is now cast out and abiding in the realm of what we call the world, a fallen one. Who and what you give ear to and then choose to follow will determine whether you are going to be pleasing to our Father in heaven, or whether you will become like the many who have been called, but in the end are a lost cause because they chose to believe more in a lie than the truth.

Luke 4:5-8 And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. (6) And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. (7) If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine. (8) And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. (KJV)

How many moments have you encountered when the enemy paints a rosy picture to good to be true, which in reality it is just that, not true? These moments can be described as imaginations, and for many they are living in an imaginary world because many are more apt to chase after these things rather than cast them down like our Lord did. The enemy had been having a field day with this creation that is called mankind, because if they were not standing for truth then he was pretty much getting them to fall for anything. Today when looking around, as well as in reading the Word, many are truly called of God to go out in His field, but only a few actually go there, while all the others are chasing imaginary events which can be easily identified by one word, denominations.

2 Corinthians 8:9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich. (KJV)

Some people think that our Lord was rich, you know like comparing it to the world and its riches? Actually our Lord was rich in faith, and chose not to entangle Himself in the affairs or heartaches of this life so that we could be rich also, that being, rich in faith. Our Lord had everything He needed when He walked this earth because He knew who His source was. He also knew who the source of deception was, thus the reason why so much opposition. So when you are having a moment of truth, will your reality check bounce because of NSF, non sufficient faith, or will you be like our Lord and respond like someone who is more than a conqueror, as well as an over comer in their walk?

Revelation 2:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God. (KJV)

Thayer’s definition for ‘overcometh’:

3528  nikao- to conquer; to carry off the victory, to come off victorious

1) used of Christ, victorious who was over all His foes

2) used of Christians who hold fast their faith even unto death against the power  of their foes, and temptations, and persecutions

3) when one is arraigned or goes to law, to win the case, maintain one's cause

You will notice in Chapters 2 and 3 of the book of Revelation that the term ‘overcometh’ is mentioned seven times. With all the power and strength that our Lord has provided for His church, which you just happen to be, there is no excuse for you to be a loser anymore, but rather let the enemy be the lost cause and you the victor.
