Foolishness
1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man
receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness
unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
(KJV)
Did you ever have someone share something
that came from the Lord and you chuckled a bit, thinking it sounded
foolish? Just how much more do you think our Lord would like to share with
His people, if only they would not limit Him? When we doubt the Lord or
lose sight of His promises that tells us what realm we have re-entered,
having departed from the faith. When you keep your Spiritual senses
exercised and the eyes of your understanding open, those things that appear
impossible to others it is actually becoming a way of life to you; because
that realm of impossible is now considered possible and something you should
be expecting to manifest.
2 Peter 3:3-5 Knowing this first, that
there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
(4) And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers
fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the
creation. (5) For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of
God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in
the water: (KJV)
The real foolishness is clearly
manifested by those that limit themselves to this fallen realm; believing
solely on what they can see, hear, and touch in the natural realm. The
wisdom of God is developed in each and every believer who holds God and His
unseen realm to be truth, and man the liar. You know, in the days of Noah
there had to be plenty of scoffers as well, given the fact that God was
warning the people through Noah of a coming flood which was a result of
rain, something that hadn’t taken place up to that point. So when the Lord
speaks to you and asks you to step out in faith, how do you respond? Do you
think it is foolish if He asks you to do something totally contrary to your
outward senses? If so, this just might put you in the category of willingly
ignorant, which is not the place you want to be when the flood hits.
Genesis 18:10-12 And he said, I will
certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah
thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was
behind him. (11) Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well stricken in age;
and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women. (12) Therefore
Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old shall I have
pleasure, my lord being old also? (KJV)
Have you ever laughed within yourself
when the Lord has spoken to you, desiring to bless you and show you things
to come? I believe we all have at one time or another because of our
limited carnal minds limited the Lord as well.
Genesis 18:13-14 And the LORD said unto
Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a
child, which am old? (14) Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time
appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah
shall have a son. (KJV)
We all have gone through rough times in
our walk, mostly because we still hold to the old and are not willing to
let go to partake of the new. Is there really anything too hard for our
Lord that He cannot handle, and provide the answer and way of escape for
His people? Well to think anything less would be just foolishness.
