Fire Sale
Psalms 24:1-4 The earth is the LORD's,
and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. (2) For he
hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods. (3) Who
shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy
place? (4) He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted
up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. (KJV)
Mankind acts like this is their planet,
and the outcome of it is in their hands according to what they decide. The
truth be known though Church, is that this planet is just a temporal or
temporary place, set up like a stage so mankind would have a place to prove
themselves to God. This realm and this place were set up so that we could
go through this life and decide for ourselves who we would choose to live
for, God or self. When the Lord decides it’s time, then this earth that He
created will be replaced once again with another heaven as well as earth,
where there will be no more wars or destruction ever again.
Revelation 21:1-2 And I saw a new heaven
and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away;
and there was no more sea. (2) And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem,
coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her
husband. (KJV)
This fallen world we are surrounded in
today, well, it’s just here for a short time and then it is over. So if
this first earth that we are a part of today is passing away, then would it
not be fitting to say that all those that hold to this world and its way of
thinking would be passing away as well? Why are so many people caught up in
this world acting like this is the eternal one instead of the new one our
Lord promises throughout His Word? How about you today personally, how many
things are you taking thought for and are all wrapped up in that really has
nothing to do with your eternal commitment to our Lord? And why are you
hanging onto something that is getting ready to pass away?
2 Corinthians 5:17-18 Therefore if any
man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold,
all things are become new. (18) And all things are of God, who hath
reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry
of reconciliation; (KJV)
You know, if you are going to be in
Christ and stay in good standing with Him then you need to start thinking
like Christ with the same mind. Thus the importance of seeking first the
kingdom of God, and renewing your mind to the things of His realm so that
you won’t be so caught up and entangled in this fallen one. If old things
are not passing away remaining dead and buried, then eventually you will be
the one ending up passing away. Church of Christ, start thinking in the new;
look ahead and not behind, and you will see what the Lord has prepared for
those that love Him.
Isaiah 65:17-18 For, behold, I create new
heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come
into mind. (18) But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create:
for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy. (KJV)
Someday soon there will be a fire sale
taking place, where those that are fired up for the Lord will enter and
partake of the new heaven and new earth our Father promised to His people.
However, for those that do not give heed to the Lord and His word, they
will sell out to the world and its way of thinking and be fired for
eternity, only then realizing the cheap hoax they fell for rather than
holding fast and enduring to the end.
