Cry No More

Revelation 21:3-4 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. (4) And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. (KJV)

Do you want to know what one of the reasons is that the people of God are crying about? Well, some of it will be the fact that now that they are able to see the eternal realm clearly, in its entirety for themselves, they will briefly look back and wonder, “How did I ever get so caught up in the temporal realm”? We will ask ourselves, “Why was I trying to please people, who were more concerned with earthly matters than heavenly ones, rather than God”? And yes, we will realize the times that we sold out and caved into our own earthly desires and passions of the flesh, selling our soul briefly for a feeling. But just like with forests, there will be a cleansing fire, followed by a new growth, this one lasting for eternity.

Williams New Testament translation of James 4:13-17

13. Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we are going to such and such a city and stay a year, go into business and make money," 14. although you do not have the slightest knowledge of tomorrow. What is the nature of your life?  It is really nothing but a mist which appears for a little while and then disappears. 15. Instead, you ought to say, "If the Lord is willing, we shall live and do this or that." 16. But, as it is, you boast of your proud pretensions.  All such boasting is wicked. 17. So when a man knows what is right but does not do it, he is guilty of sin.

You as a mature Christian in Christ should know for yourself what the reason you are here on this earth for, and who it is that you should be pleasing. You were not put here to see how much money you could make, or how big of a legacy you could leave in your name, but rather your only desire should be to serve our Lord, in Spirit and in truth. So when you pray about a matter, do you base the answer on the financial outcome, or are you more concerned with the Spiritual one? Anything other than serving our Lord is just a crying shame to say the least.

2 Timothy 2:3-4 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. (4) No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier. (KJV)

Sometimes we think we are getting shortchanged, or the short end of the stick and we end up getting angry and frustrated. However, maybe some of that frustration is a result of you hitting a brick wall in your walk, trying to go somewhere with the wrong motives. If you have prayed about a matter, and the Lord hasn’t asked you to move in that direction then it would be in your best interest to hold your ground until you know it is the Lord moving you on. Maybe the reason the Lord has you in a holding pattern is because you are still holding to the world and its fallen ways, rather than letting go and seeking a deeper spiritual understanding of the will of the Lord.

1Thessalonians 2:4-6 But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts. (5) For neither at any time used we flattering words, as ye know, nor a cloke of covetousness; God is witness: (6) Nor of men sought we glory, neither of you, nor yet of others, when we might have been burdensome, as the apostles of Christ. (KJV)

Sometimes people wonder, “Why doesn’t the Lord use me more to teach and preach on His behalf”? Well like with the Marines, He is looking for a few good men who haven’t sold out to the world and its worldly ways, those that are no longer crying over spilt milk, but rather those who are partaking of the meat of God’s Word.
