The Wrong Stuff
2 Timothy 2:15-17 Study to shew thyself
approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly
dividing the word of truth. (16) But shun profane and vain babblings: for
they will increase unto more ungodliness. (17) And their word will eat as
doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; (KJV)

gaggraina- a gangrene, a disease by which any part of the body
suffering from inflammation becomes so corrupted that, unless a remedy be
seasonably applied, the evil continually spreads, attacks other parts, and
at last eats away the bones
You wonder why many in the body of Christ
get taken down, becoming weak, sickly, and for some falling asleep whether Spiritually
or permanently? Well, rather than shunning profane and vain babblings which
resulted from hanging around a bunch of profane and vain babblers, they
tried to fit into their way of thinking, thinking that it would please God.
Many times, those that you are trying to please may in fact be those that
are not pleasing to God, and the end result will be death unless dealt with
properly.
Philippians 3:18-20 (For many walk, of
whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the
enemies of the cross of Christ: (19) Whose end is destruction, whose God is
their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.) (20)
For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the
Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: (KJV)
Many that were called of God, yeah sad to
say, they decided to walk a different path, one that would please the
carnal man more than the Spiritual one. The end result is destruction given
the fact that death and life is in the power of tongue; whatever foolish
vain doctrine they allowed into the heart is what is flowing from their
mouth. Similar to a snake, anyone who gets bit with the venom will need to
get attention and find the right serum if they plan on living. Some of
these vain babblers that you have been hanging around with, yeah, not
something our Lord would approve of either.
Romans 16:17-19 Now I beseech you,
brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the
doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. (18) For they that are such
serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and
fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple. (19) For your obedience is
come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I
would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil. (KJV)

Feeling a bit woozy lately, having a hard
time walking a straight and narrow path? Maybe it is time to consider and
take a second look at who you have been associating with and who you are
getting your counsel from. You might just find that some of those hits you
have been taking lately have been in the form of friendly fire, the enemy
pretending to be someone he really isn’t. Hanging around the wrong people
is just not the right stuff, and will never allow one to grow and mature in
the Lord but rather regress. Wrong people = the wrong stuff.
