Somewhere Along The Line
Revelation 22:1 And he shewed me a pure
river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of
God and of the Lamb. (KJV)
You know, when there is break in a water
main, or if the water has been tainted, crews are sent out to find the
breach and make the repairs so that the water stays pure and healthy. Given
the fact that the Word of God left His throne in a pure state, it is
expected that those that stand before His judgment seat someday will have
kept His Word pure and free from carnality, the impurities of our carnal
ways and thoughts. Flesh and blood or a carnal way of thinking and
lifestyle will not inherit the kingdom of God, and neither will those that
hold to man and his fallen ways of thinking and doctrines.
Matthew 7:21-23 Not every one that saith
unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that
doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. (22) Many will say to me in
that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out
devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? (23) And then will I
profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
(KJV)
Ever go to take a drink of water and it
had a nasty odor, as well as a different color? The first thought that
comes to mind is a breach in the water lines, what started as pure ended up
corrupted. As we see in the above verses, this is what has happened
spiritually, and not to just a few but too many. Obviously many did not
have their Spiritual senses exercised to know the difference between good
and evil, and were drinking unhealthy tainted doctrines of a fallen
corruptible mankind rather than an incorruptible seed within, which is
Christ. What well are you drinking from today; is it a well of living
waters, or have you gone to a well that is stagnant and dried up?
Galatians 6:7-8 Be not deceived; God is
not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. (8) For
he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that
soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. (KJV)
When I was younger and in high school, it
was a common and many times an expected practice that someone would spike
the punch, add a little something to make it more appealing. Many of man’s
doctrines are founded on the same premise, though it tickles the ears and will
make one giddy and emotional the truth is that it is a poisonous dose of
something unhealthy, that if continued to be ingested will lead to death.
Man’s doctrines appeal more to the emotions than the Spirit; which is why
so many are led astray, seeking the feel good doctrines rather than the
truth that will set them free.
Matthew 13:24-25 Another parable put he
forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which
sowed good seed in his field: (25) But while men slept, his enemy came and
sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. (KJV)
Many today are asleep at the wheel and
heading for a ditch, because rather than keeping their Spiritual eyes and
ears open to the truth they have allowed the enemy to slip by and taint the
good seed that was beginning to take root. Are you in this salvation for
the long haul, or have you somewhere along the line allowed the enemy to
get in and cut off the line of communication between you and our Father in
heaven? Don’t expect an eternal reward unless you bring a pure lifestyle
and doctrine to the throne when seeking your entrance into His kingdom.
