One Accord
Philippians 2:1-2 If there be therefore
any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the
Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, (2) Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be
likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. (KJV)
When one is likeminded, then they are in
agreement; there is peace to those that come into agreement with God’s plan
of salvation, which is why the Father sent the Son to restore the
fellowship between Him and a fallen mankind. How do you experience peace?
Well, it all started when you came into agreement with God, letting His
Spirit lead and guide you on the path that is detoured from destruction,
leading to eternal life.
John 10:27-30 My sheep hear my voice, and
I know them, and they follow me: (28) And I give unto them eternal life;
and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my
hand. (29) My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man
is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. (30) I and my Father are
one. (KJV)
As we see once again, Jesus Christ was
praying to His Father in heaven and not to Himself, was He? He is clear in
the fact that His Father is greater than all, and then goes on to say that
He and His Father are one. Is not this statement true with you also today;
that you and our Father in heaven are one as well, being likeminded with
Him, one accord? After all, we have the mind of Christ; if we take the time
to stay renewed in it we can see things from our Lord’s perspective and not
our limited one any longer.
Philippians 2:5-7 Let this mind be in
you, which was also in Christ Jesus: (6) Who, being in the form of God,
thought it not robbery to be equal with God: (7) But made himself of no
reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the
likeness of men: (KJV)
As far as being equal with God, again
this man didn’t claim He was God, but rather He was likeminded with Him and
in agreement with what God planned for His life. You too should be
operating with this same mindset, letting the mind of Christ show you the
path that God would have you to walk in this day. You should think it
robbery if you allow the thief to distract you from the truth, and you end
up falling for one of his cheap deceptions.
Romans 15:5-6 Now the God of patience and
consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to
Christ Jesus: (6) That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even
the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. (KJV)
The Father of our Lord Jesus Christ; it
is quite specific, the order that God has things in heaven. Now the order that
He would like to see things on earth is, that we would be likeminded with
Him, staying in good standing through His Son. It’s only those that know the
truth that will truly be able to glorify God.
1 Corinthians 2:14-16 But the natural man
receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness
unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
(15) But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged
of no man. (16) For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may
instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ. (KJV)
Those that are in the flesh cannot please
God because they will make claims that are based from their natural
viewpoint and not from the Spiritual. We have the mind of Christ so that we
can know the things of God and stay in good standing with Him, being of one
accord.
