Totally Tolerant
Psalms 103:8-10 The LORD is merciful and
gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. (9) He will not always
chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever. (10) He hath not dealt with
us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. (KJV)
You know, for those that think they are
“good people” and that all they have to do is love everyone, many of them make
it appear like they are doing God a favor rather than realizing the divine
favor that was given to us from above. For those that think good works
actually does work, the reality is that if we all got what was really
coming to us none of us would be here now. God does love His people; in
fact, He loved all of mankind enough that He sent His Son to demonstrate
the love of God and what we would need to do in order to inherit eternal
life.
Galatians 5:16-17 This I say then, Walk
in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. (17) For the
flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and
these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things
that ye would. (KJV)
The grace and mercy of God points out the
things that, He will and will not tolerate in order to inherit eternal
life. When one walks contrary to the Word of God, looking for what they
think are loopholes in the Word so that they can justify their lusts rather
than overcoming them, they are considered transgressors and fall back under
the curse.
Galatians 5:18-21 But if ye be led of the
Spirit, ye are not under the law. (19) Now the works of the flesh are
manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness,
lasciviousness, (20) Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations,
wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, (21) Envyings, murders, drunkenness,
revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also
told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the
kingdom of God. (KJV)
Now, while many today would rather
tolerate sin and welcome some of man’s sinful carnal doctrines into their
congregations, the Word is very specific to point out what is not
tolerated. Many today preach their feel good doctrines without warning the
people of the correction that is needed to make it into their eternal
reward, which in reality is not very loving at all. The love of God is clearly
manifested by those that are willing to bring the correction through the Word,
no matter who it may offend. So you have to decide for yourself, am I
willing to please man or God?
Psalms 103:11-13 For as the heaven is
high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. (12)
As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our
transgressions from us. (13) Like as a father pitieth his children, so the
LORD pitieth them that fear him. (KJV)
“Oh but a loving God wouldn’t send people
to hell because we are told to love everyone”; God loves the people but
will not tolerate or allow sin and those that hold to sin into His kingdom.
It’s not Him sending the people, but rather they had a choice whether to
walk in the Spirit or fulfill the lusts of the flesh which will have
eternal consequences. From what the Word says, and what I see consistently
through the Word, God has been totally tolerant and merciful, ever so
gracious and continually reaching out to a lost world.
