Opposites Don’t Attract

Romans 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. (2) And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (KJV)

One of the biggest downfalls of a Christian is when they try to fit into the world and its way of thinking instead of stepping out into the new realm the Lord intended for them to walk in. The more you hang around worldly people, the more you will think and act like them, even those that claim to be Christian many times are not much different than the world and its fallen way of thinking.

Proverbs 13:20-21 He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed. (21) Evil pursueth sinners: but to the righteous good shall be repayed. (KJV)

What has happened too many, and yes I do mean many Christians, is that those many who have been called, well, in the end only a few will really be chosen. Many do not take the time to renew their minds daily to the things of God, but rather try to fit God into man’s realm thinking that is what salvation is all about. I mean after all, how the heck did we ever end up with so many faiths and denominations when our Lord is quite clear and specific that only one Lord and one faith would be accepted into His kingdom? Some of these people you have been hanging out with, uhhh, are not really who the Lord intended for you to walk with; because like the Lord said, His people perish for lack of knowledge, and that would be the Spiritual one, His knowledge.

Galatians 5:16-17 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. (17) For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. (KJV)

When you really start walking by faith and walking on the path of life the Lord intended for you to be on, you will find a lot of the wannabes and pretenders no longer around anymore. If you keep walking back trying to win the approval of mankind then you will find yourself on a different path, not the one the Lord had in mind for you to walk in. You want real change in your life; you want real results from a real God; then start walking by faith, hearing where our Lord is leading, and you will find the life He intended for you.

Galatians 5:24-26 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. (25) If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. (26) Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another. (KJV)

Your old life and way of thinking was based on emotions; things that made the flesh feel good were in reality an abomination in the sight of God. Your new life in Christ is totally opposite now, because instead of pampering and caving into the flesh and its fallen desires we crucify and subdue them so that we can partake of the fruit of the Spirit.

Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, (23) Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. (KJV)

In order to partake of one, you have to let go of the other. So which realm will you partake of today? Because opposites really don’t attract; and that which is highly esteemed in man’s sight, would be considered in the abomination column according to our Lord’s insight.
