Establish The Law

Romans 3:28-31 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. (29) Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also: (30) Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith. (31) Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law. (KJV)

We have talked the last couple of weeks about the law, and the issues that Paul was having with it. We saw in the book of Acts that certain people, like the Jews, thought that the law was still in play for them but not for the Gentiles. The conclusion is that we do not totally void all of the law, because there are some things in it that are still in play; like the stuff about not stealing, coveting our neighbors wife, or murdering; however, it’s the rituals and the offerings that are no longer in play. There is a law that needs to be established with each and every believer in Christ in order for them to obtain their eternal inheritance.

Romans 8:2-4 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. (3) For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: (4) That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (KJV)

You now have access to the throne of God by a new and living way, a law of faith that allows you into His realm of the Spirit. This law of faith is no longer based on outward rituals and carnal washing, but an inward renewing daily of our mind by the Holy Spirit.

Romans 3:27-28 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. (28) Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. (KJV)

Hey, just because you don’t have some big following or worldwide ministry doesn’t mean you are any less in the sight of God. In fact, a lot of what we still see going on today is the same stuff Paul dealt with; people that still think their works actually work. There is a new law brought to us by a new Spiritual sheriff, who has set us free from our imprisonment in the fallen realm of the flesh to a new and higher realm located in heaven. The more you learn to walk by this faith, in this realm, the less likely you will be duped and fall back under arrest of the old law of sin and death, which many already have.

Galatians 3:3-5 Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? (4) Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain. (5) He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? (KJV)

Dunking people in water, carnal communion services, whatever way the old manifests, is a dead end and cheap imitation for what is really taking place in the realm of the Spirit. True communion is just that, communicating with our Lord by faith; hearing His Word and walking according to what is heard from Him and not what you see others doing.

Romans 10:3-4 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. (4) For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. (KJV)

Christ is truly the end; the end of all of man’s silly carnal outward rituals and offerings which basically tell God that His Son did not do a complete work on our behalf. Christ put an end to all this stuff, so why won’t His people follow suit? Do you desire to establish a permanent long lasting eternal relationship with God, then it will only take place by faith and not of works; unless you think you have something to boast about?
