Deliverance

Galatians 1:4-5 Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father: (5) To whom be  glory for ever and ever. Amen. (KJV)

God’s will and desire for your life is to see you take His way of escape from this present, yet temporal, world we are surrounded with and walk a new path that will lead you out of here. God in His infinite mercy upon mankind, not only created us, but also made a way of escape even after our own rebellion which manifests in the form of sin, which is unbelief.

3 John 1:2-4 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. (3) For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth. (4) I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. (KJV)

You know, the joy the writer was experiencing was the joy of the Lord; the Spirit rejoicing in the fact that the people were allowing the truth of God’s Word to set them free, and were partaking of the way of deliverance God had provided for them. You as a parent rejoice when you see your own children taking the truth you give them, and not end up in a harmful dangerous situation that could have been avoided. Even when we were yet sinners God saw the need before the foundation of this world and made a way of escape for each and every person to follow. Now the question is, how many will truly follow the only path out of here and into their eternal inheritance in heaven. Well according to the Word, not many but rather a few.

Colossians 1:10-14 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; (11) Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; (12) Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: (13) Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: (14) In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: (KJV)

Is there really going to be any excuse for not making it, and inheriting what is rightfully yours for the taking? Well according to the scriptures, that would be a no. The Lord gave us the strength, the power which is Christ; and as verse 13 says, hath delivered, which is past tense, basically saying it is a done deal. With all that is provided for us, a clear path of escape, it is now a matter of actually walking it and not just talking it, this is what will be the deciding factor in your receiving it. No more blame game, no more excuses, it’s there for the taking, now go get on that path and start walking home.

1 Peter 1:3-7 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, (4) To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, (5) Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. (6) Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: (7) That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: (KJV)

Christ, the power and wisdom of God, is what will keep you in good standing with Him as well as knowing you are on that path of deliverance. That longsuffering and patience thing we just read about in Colossians, yeah Peter found out too that the trail home is not without some resistance; some trials and temptations of the enemy who would like to see you sidetracked and knocked off course. Sometimes that cross the Lord is asking you to bear gets heavy, and only His strength is able to get you through these trials and present you innocent before God.

1 Peter 3:16-18 Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ. (17) For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing. (18) For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: (KJV)

Keep in mind that when, and I use the word ‘when’ and not ‘if’, but when you experience suffering it is a confirmation that you are doing the will of God, and not like in the past when you were doing things that you knew were wrong. Many times people think that just because there are some hardships or those that make false accusations against them, that they have done something wrong. Know this that as you continue in the deliverance our Lord provided for you, as you continue doing the will of God, it will contradict and go against those of this fallen realm. This is also a point where many call it quits or draw the line, because rather than being longsuffering and patient, waiting on the Lord to hear their way of escape, they take the path of least resistance, bailing out, instead of following through.

Matthew 7:13-14 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: (14) Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. (KJV)

Strong’s definition for ‘narrow’:

2346  thlibo (thlee'-bo); akin to the base of 5147; to crowd (literally or figuratively): KJV-- afflict, narrow, throng, suffer tribulation, trouble.

Did someone tell you that it was an easy path home? Well if they did, they obviously are not one who has found this path, let alone one who is choosing to walk it either. While many make the claim that all paths lead to the same place, your Bible is quite clear to point out that there is only one way of escape from this present evil world, and along that way you will encounter some opposition. My prayer today is that you will not be swayed, but that you will continue to walk in truth and allow your soul to prosper and continue in good Spiritual health.
