A Reading Of The Will

Galatians 1:3-5 Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, (4) Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father: (5) To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. (KJV)

When someone dies and departs from this realm, most times there is a reading of their last will and testament in which they leave an inheritance to their family members. You have been left a last will and testament, a Spiritual one that provides the family members in Christ with an everlasting inheritance for those that listen into the reading.

John 14:5-7 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? (6) Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (7) If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. (KJV)

With the reading of a will, it is drawn up and read by a lawyer so that it can be distributed in the way that it was intended by its owner. Spiritually, we have a lawyer or mediator, who was sent to provide our only way of escape from this present evil world, and is now seated at the right hand of God to show us all that we inherited by His sacrifice. If you knew you had an earthly inheritance available and all you had to do was show up for the reading of it, I am sure that you would make every effort to be there, and on time as well. With all that is available to us in Christ this day involving our eternal inheritance in Him, were you as diligent to show up for your daily reading of His will also?

1 Timothy 4:13-16 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. (14) Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery. (15) Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all. (16) Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee. (KJV)

There is only one way of escape from this present evil world; and our instructions on the path that we need to take are given to us on a daily basis. When our Lord gave role call today were you seated in a heavenly place to hear the reading, or were you a no show? We as Christians are required to not only know for ourselves the will of God, but to have an answer for any others that would be seeking a way of escape from this present fallen realm that we are surrounded with. That answer for yourself as well as for others will only come by making it a priority first and foremost in your day to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, or our right standing with Him. Do you desire the whole and complete answer? Then you will need to be giving a whole hearted effort or you will not find your way of escape but will stay trapped in the realm of the flesh, full of doubt and fear rather than confidence and boldness.

2 Timothy 2:15-16 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (16) But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness. (KJV)

You know, with some last wills and testaments there are conditions and clauses that need to be carried out in order for the inheritor to receive their reward. Your Bible is full of conditions and clauses, things to follow and things to avoid. Knowing the difference between what is of God and what man says is needed to obtain His inheritance is a life and death matter, like reading the fine print.

Colossians 3:23-25 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; (24) Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. (25) But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons. (KJV)

Do you desire a full reward? Then it will take a full whole hearted effort to obtain what is rightfully yours for the taking. Again we see, our efforts need to be toward pleasing our Lord and no longer trying to be people pleasers; because those that are the crowd favorites will end up in a crowded place with the many who were called, not with the few that truly end up chosen.

Luke 6:46-49 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? (47) Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: (48) He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. (49) But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great. (KJV)

You will encounter storms as you travel through this realm toward the eternal one; now the question becomes how prepared were you to not only encounter these but to find the way of escape the Lord provided? The simple truth is, if you desire to hear your name read aloud before God and His angels someday, then you need to show up for your daily reading of the Will so that you can do those things that are pleasing in His sight.
