Secret Admirer
Matthew 6:3-6 But when thou doest alms,
let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: (4) That thine alms
may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward
thee openly. (5) And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites
are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of
the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have
their reward. (6) But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and
when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and
thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. (KJV)
Strong’s definition for ‘secret’:
2927
kruptos (kroop-tos'); from 2928; concealed, i.e. private: KJV-- hid
(-den), inward [-ly], secret.
Did you know that you have a secret
admirer, one that judges according to the inward man and not the outward
appearance? Hypocrites are those that look and judge according to the
outward man, and spend all their time and energy trying to appease the
fallen nature rather than operating in the divine new nature that we have
access to. Our Father sees the inward intents and motives of the heart, and
works with us according to that alone, totally separate from any external
situations, family lineage, amount of money you possess, or how well
thought of you are in the community.
1 Samuel 16:6-7 And it came to pass, when
they were come, that he looked on Eliab, and said, Surely the LORD's
anointed is before him. (7) But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his
countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him:
for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward
appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart. (KJV)
Remember the old comic books where they
would advertise x-ray glasses, where you could order a set and see beyond
the outward realm, or so they claimed? Well, what we see taking place in
the above verses is a situation where it came time to anoint a king, so
they brought in what they thought would make the best king according to the
outward countenance. But as we see, the Lord was instructing them
differently, and was looking more to the inward than the outward. So how do
you look at people and situations; do you still look and make
determinations according to the outward appearance, or do you let the peace
of God rule knowing God is able to see the inward secret intents and
outcome for your decisions?
1 Samuel 16:10-12 Again, Jesse made seven
of his sons to pass before Samuel. And Samuel said unto Jesse, The LORD
hath not chosen these. (11) And Samuel said unto Jesse, Are here all thy
children? And he said, There remaineth yet the youngest, and, behold, he
keepeth the sheep. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Send and fetch him: for we
will not sit down till he come hither. (12) And he sent, and brought him
in. Now he was ruddy, and withal of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to
look to. And the LORD said, Arise, anoint him: for this is he. (KJV)
Oh and by the way, ever hear that term
the last shall be first and the first last? Well, in the end the youngest
of the sons of Jesse, the last one they would have thought would end up
king, was actually the first choice the Lord had in mind. You too will
encounter situations in your walk where you think you have things figured
out, only to find out the Lord had different intentions based on His inward
vision and not your limited external one. The question now becomes, will
you trust more in the inner man, that being Christ in you the only hope of
glory and where He is leading and guiding you this day, or will you lean
unto your own understanding and end up falling for a cheap hoax?
Jeremiah 17:9-11 The heart is deceitful
above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? (10) I the LORD
search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his
ways, and according to the fruit of his doings. (11) As the partridge
sitteth on eggs, and hatcheth them not; so he that getteth riches, and not
by right, shall leave them in the midst of his days, and at his end shall
be a fool. (KJV)
Your Bible is very specific to point out,
especially in these latter days, that there would be many false prophets
that would rise up and deceive many. So how would you know the difference
unless you learn to hear the Lord’s voice, know His doctrine, and rightly
divide the word of truth, exercising your spiritual senses to know the
difference between good and evil? As we see in verse 11, and even in the so
called church realm, there are many bird brain doctrines flying around
which are more concerned with the riches of this life and not the internal,
the eternal riches of wisdom and knowledge that is only found in Christ.
Psalms 7:8-10 The LORD shall judge the
people: judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness, and according to
mine integrity that is in me. (9) Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come
to an end; but establish the just: for the righteous God trieth the hearts
and reins. (10) My defence is of God, which saveth the upright in heart. (KJV)
We should be seeking first the kingdom of
God and His righteousness, which is not found in the outward realm but
rather located in a secret place, one that is the hidden intent of the
heart. Where and what you truly treasure is where your heart is; and
knowing that you have a secret admirer in heaven is a comforting thought,
especially when you keep in contact with Him and give ear to His
instructions that will lead you to your eternal destination. The path of
life is a secret to the carnal man, but readily revealed and available to
the spiritual one. The Lord knows the thoughts and intents of your heart,
the question today is do you know the thoughts and intents of His heart?
