One Body
1 Corinthians 12:12-13 For as the body is
one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being
many, are one body: so also is Christ. (13) For by one Spirit are we all
baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond
or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. (KJV)
Are you able to see what the true body
is, or should I say who the true body is? Are you able to see that a
Spiritual body has a Spiritual name that it goes by and who it identifies
you with? Verse 13 uses the term ‘baptize’ as well as ‘drink’, but as we
see it is now referring to something Spiritual, not a carnal ordinance of the
law that was done away and is not a part of the true body of believers in Christ.
We also see that salvation is a free gift, something that is available to
all, not just certain people or sects, but rather any that would call upon
the name of the Lord.
Romans 12:3-5 For I say, through the
grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of
himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according
as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. (4) For as we have
many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: (5) So
we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of
another. (KJV)
There are still some today that think
they have special privileges or are blessed of God by their physical
heritage or lineage, and not their Spiritual one. God has dealt and made
available to each person the measure of faith; the same measure that Jesus
Christ operated in is available to you also. This measure of faith gives
you the opportunity to hear the message being delivered by God through
Christ, so that you can be a partaker of His divine nature. If you notice too
that there are many members but only one true body of believers, and that
body is described as those that are in Christ. While mankind has come up
with many different denominations and titles for the Lord in the end there
is still only one name that He acknowledges and gives credence to. So if
you desire to stay in good standing with our Lord and operate in His body
it is vital you know His name, because you wouldn’t want your name left out
of His book of life would you?
Revelation 3:4-6 Thou hast a few names
even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk
with me in white: for they are worthy. (5) He that overcometh, the same
shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of
the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before
his angels. (6) He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith
unto the churches. (KJV)
All this week we have been discussing the
name of our Lord and what name He acknowledges as His. So let’s take look
at it this way, if you desire to have your name confessed and acknowledged
before our Father then would He not expect you to confess and be
acknowledging His name also? So if you have erased and kept His name out of
your vocabulary then the term “what goes around will be coming back around your
way” would it not?
1 John 4:1-3 Beloved, believe not every
spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false
prophets are gone out into the world. (2) Hereby know ye the Spirit of God:
Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of
God: (3) And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in
the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye
have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. (KJV)
What is your confession, and what name do
you give when you are giving an account of God’s plan of salvation? Take
notice that it doesn’t say Jesus Christ was come, but rather, are you
acknowledging who is come, or in other words, are you giving an accurate
account of the one body our Lord gives credence to? Are you identifying
yourself as one of His now, knowing the family name you belong to and who
gives us access into His realm? Because if you don’t know, or are not
giving an accurate account of His body, then you are considered in
opposition to Him, thus the term antichrist. Remember our Lord was quite
specific to point out that if we are not with Him then we are against Him.
Again, do you desire for the Lord to confess your name before His angels
when you are seeking entrance into your eternal inheritance? Then you
better be confessing a name that is eternal as well, that being Jesus
Christ.
1 John 3:22-24 And whatsoever we ask, we
receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that
are pleasing in his sight. (23) And this is his commandment, That we should
believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he
gave us commandment. (24) And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in
him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit
which he hath given us. (KJV)
You know, one of the most important
things you will be asking for is your entrance into His eternal realm.
Before He grants you entrance into this realm He will be asking you if you have
kept His commandments, which are now Spiritual. So if you know the name
that identifies us with the one body of believers, then you know that you
are one of His by the Spirit which he has provided for us to lead and guide
us into all truth. Our Lord said that “He is the way, the truth, and the
life and that no man can come to the Father but by Him”, now the question
is, do you know who He is and what name He goes by?
Ephesians 4:13-16 Till we all come in the
unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect
man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: (14) That we
henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with
every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness,
whereby they lie in wait to deceive; (15) But speaking the truth in love,
may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: (16) From
whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every
joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every
part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. (KJV)
The Lord gave us His Word, and inspired
His people to teach His Word so that we would not have to live in a realm
of darkness and fear, but rather be enlightened and know who He is and how
to be a partaker of His one body of believers. Again, we notice that the
body is described as singular, “one Lord, one faith”, not many lords and
many so called paths of faiths. Do you know for yourself who you are in
Christ and what place He would have you in His body? Don’t wait until it’s
too late.
