Faithful In Christ
1 Corinthians 2:4-5 And my speech and my
preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration
of the Spirit and of power: (5) That your faith should not stand in the
wisdom of men, but in the power of God. (KJV)
Your faith, your ability to believe and
trust in the message God has for you will not stand and neither will you in
your own wisdom, but it must be in the power of God. Christ is the power of
God, and His wisdom as well, so that we no longer have to fall for the
cheap wiles of the devil anymore. Man’s words and wisdom is enticing
because it appeals more to the lower nature than the new one available in
Christ. So those that are in the flesh cannot please God, but rather their
God is their belly, seeking to satisfy the carnal man, while starving the
Spiritual one, choking the Word.
Colossians 1:1-3 Paul, an apostle of
Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timotheus our brother, (2) To the
saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto
you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. (3) We give
thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for
you, (KJV)
You know, in order to be considered
faithful it can only come through Christ, a working knowledge of the Son of
God. Only those that are in Christ are new creations, because if you are
not on the inside then you are considered on the outside and unfaithful to
Him.
Colossians 1:4-5 Since we heard of your
faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints, (5)
For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in
the word of the truth of the gospel; (KJV)
The only true hope you will ever find,
the only real thing that has any substance is the doctrine of Christ, which
is now located at the right hand of the Father. Those that are considered
faithful in Christ are those that are willing to discard their own lusts
and desires, making it a priority to hear His message, and then act on what
the Lord is asking. Sometimes things don’t always look good to the outward
man, but by letting the peace of God rule in your life you will see the
results and answers to your prayers. In other words, the just shall live by
faith, or faith in Jesus Christ, a man that walked this earth and made it
to His eternal destination.
2 Corinthians 4:5-7 For we preach not
ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for
Jesus' sake. (6) For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness,
hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory
of God in the face of Jesus Christ. (7) But we have this treasure in
earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of
us. (KJV)
You know, the more you learn to rely on
Christ the more faithful and effective you are in teaching the things of
God. It takes a Spiritual light to enlighten us to the things of His realm,
and you find that the knowledge it reveals is in the face of Jesus Christ.
So let’s face it, it is no longer about us, or any other person we may have
looked up to in the past, but rather we now have access to an excellent
source of power, one that is of God. You know, the more you can see into
the realm of the Spirit the brighter it shines on the path of life that the
Lord is asking you to walk. So in essence, the clearer this path becomes to
you the more faithful you will be able to walk in it. Remember when you
were young, how you didn’t like traveling down a trail in the dark, one you
were not sure of? Well now that you have grown and matured in Christ you
are able to see a trail illuminated by the light of the glorious gospel of
Christ.
1Thessalonians 5:23-24 And the very God
of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and
body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. (24) Faithful
is he that calleth you, who also will do it. (KJV)
God is faithful to lead you and guide you
in your calling, because you now have access to the author and finisher of
your faith, that being Jesus Christ. In fact this calling of yours and the
place the Lord would have you in His body of believers was drawn up before
the foundation of the world, long before you were around to give your
thoughts and opinions. Basically it all comes down to the fact that, the
more I can decrease and get out of the way the more of an influence the
Lord and His Word will have in my life and increase.
1John 1:7-9 But if we walk in the light,
as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood
of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. (8) If we say that we
have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. (9) If we
confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse
us from all unrighteousness. (KJV)
Despite our shortcomings and faults,
despite the fact that we all sin and fall short of His glory, we can get
right back up and have that faithful fellowship restored with Christ so
that we won’t be deceived and walk in darkness. God is faithful, and
provided everything needed for us to be faithful as well. Remember, if any
man be in Christ, it is then that they are a new creation, old things are
passed away, and you can now abide faithfully in a new way of life no longer
influenced by the things of this fallen realm. Stay faithful.
