Faithful And Wise Servant
Matthew 24:45-47 Who then is a faithful
and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give
them meat in due season? (46) Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when
he cometh shall find so doing. (47) Verily I say unto you, That he shall
make him ruler over all his goods. (KJV)
So who did the Lord consider faithful and
wise? Those who were distributing to the necessity of the saints. Now let’s
keep in mind that the meat of this realm will last for a season, however,
there is meat that needs to be distributed also that will last for
eternity.
John 6:26-27 Jesus answered them and
said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the
miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled. (27) Labour
not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life,
which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father
sealed. (KJV)
Many people seek the Lord for carnal
reasons and miss out on the eternal meat that is available. Many of those
that are in the position of teaching and preaching labor to keep people
focused more in the physical realm than in the Spiritual, thinking
something in this lower fallen realm would ever satisfy a spiritual hunger.
Many are still stuck and hung up in this fallen realm, still trapped and
unable to let go of earthly things so that they can focus their attention
on Spiritual things and find the true substance that will satisfy the inner
man. Do you desire to be counted faithful? Then you need to be looking
above and not below in order to find that meat that will not perish, and
neither will those that partake of it.
John 4:29-32 Come, see a man, which told
me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ? (30) Then they went
out of the city, and came unto him. (3) In
the mean while his disciples prayed him, saying, Master, eat. (32) But he
said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of. (KJV)
Those that know Christ personally and His
doctrine are those who are partaking of a heavenly meat, one that is hidden
to the carnal man. It takes a Spiritual meat, Spiritual bread, as well as
drinking living Spiritual waters if one truly desires to grow strong in the
Lord and not perish. So what are you seeking today; and what was the first
meal you ingested today; physical or spiritual?
Hebrews 5:11-14 Of whom we have many
things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing. (12) For
when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you
again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become
such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. (13) For every one that
useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. (14)
But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by
reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. (KJV)
You know why they are dull of hearing? Because
they allowed the enemy to distract them and get their attention more on the
things of this life, rather than on the eternal life. So at a time when
they should have been have been teaching others how to partake of this
strong meat they were still sucking a bottle that was no longer providing
the nourishment that is needed. If you desire to grow and mature in the
things of our Lord, as well as be strong, then you will need a strong
healthy diet if you ever desire to be faithful to our Lord and used by Him.
Matthew 25:34-35 Then shall the King say
unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the
kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: (35) For I was
an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was
a stranger, and ye took me in: (KJV)
Please take notice of who God considered
as one of His faithful servants. Those who were able to rise above and not
become entangled with the silly petty things of this life, but rather grew
up and matured in the things concerning their Spiritual life.
Matthew 25:37-40 Then shall the righteous
answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or
thirsty, and gave thee drink? (38) When saw we thee a stranger, and took
thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? (39) Or when saw we thee sick, or in
prison, and came unto thee? (40) And the King shall answer and say unto
them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the
least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. (KJV)
You know, the Lord takes it quite personal
when you are a wise and faithful servant. In fact, He takes it so personal
that He provided you an eternal reward because of it. Are you ready to give
His answer today to anyone He sends your direction? Only if you are a wise
and faithful servant.
