Enemy Within

1 Corinthians 15:47-50 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. (48) As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. (49) And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. (50) Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. (KJV)

As you grow in the Lord and mature, it is expected that you learn to bear the fruit of the Spirit more and more. As we have the image of this earthly carnal realm and were stuck in the quicksand of the flesh, we now realize that it took a second man from heaven to get us out of this rut and put us back on our feet, a sure foundation for those that find it. Our Lord is the vine or source of life, we are now the branches bearing and bringing forth the fruit of His Spirit, bearing more and more the image of the second man from heaven by dying to our own fallen carnal lower nature.

Romans 8:6-8 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. (7) Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. (8) So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. (KJV)

Your own flesh and blood thinking did not get you into the kingdom of God, and it is that carnal mind that will keep you outside of it if you continue operating in this realm. Your thoughts, your own ideas, all these shortcuts and quick fixes you think will get you what is needed will end up keeping you on the outside looking in rather than you getting first hand insider information needed today. The devil didn’t make you do anything; all he did is whisper in your ear and try to distract you with some cheap carnal answer that would never bring peace but rather heartache. The truth be known Church, the more you give ear and seek those things above the less you will be distracted and fall for those things which are below.

Romans 8:14-17 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. (15) For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. (16) The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: (17) And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. (KJV)

Look at it this way, that second man from heaven who was sent to bring us God’s plan of salvation and reconciliation is now bearing witness to the first man Adam, reminding you of who you are in Christ and all that He has available for you in His realm. Haven’t you taken enough hits in the past from the enemy, which then resulted in your lower nature taking over and falling for the lies? The more you give attention to this second man from heaven the more you will be bearing the fruit of the Spirit. Do you desire your reward of inheritance that is rightfully yours for the taking? Then take the time and make it a priority to hear the message of God being delivered through Christ, so that you yourself can stay delivered from the power of darkness and remain translated in His heavenly realm.

Luke 12:25-29 And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit? (26) If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest? (27) Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. (28) If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith? (29) And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. (KJV)

You know, while you were off and running around in circles like a dog chasing his own tail, you were sure missing out on all of the Spiritual blessings that the Lord would have desired to see you partake of this day instead. Basically the downfall started out with just one thought, our own thought that we thought would bring peace. While you thought you could find peace in the carnal realm (you know, that realm where the first man Adam fell) you totally ignored the second man Christ who had so much more to offer you in the Spiritual realm where you could have kept standing.

Luke 12:30-32 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things. (31) But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you. (32) Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. (KJV)

You know, while many point fingers at others and play the blame game the simple truth is that sometimes we are our own worst enemy; and that the enmity is actually our own carnal minds that duped us.

1 John 4:17-18 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. (18) There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. (KJV)

Are you casting down all those imaginations that paint you the worst case scenario, or are you having the picture blown up out of proportion? A perfect mature love and understanding of our Lord will get rid of all that nagging tormenting fear of our lower natures, and being influenced by our own carnal negative thinking. Don’t let that enemy within you, that carnal thinking, have a greater influence on you than He being Christ who is within you.
