A Second Opinion

1 Corinthians 15:45-47 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. (46) Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. (47) The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. (KJV)

Since the fall of the first man Adam, God has spoken throughout His Word to make us aware of a second man from heaven that would arrive on planet earth and undo what the first man could not do on his own. For those that are in this realm of the flesh and choose to stay there, thinking that they are just fine and life is good, basing their conclusions more on the outward appearance rather than the inward one, they will eventually find that they have fallen as well for the lies and deceptions of the wicked one whose only desire is to see mankind continue to ignore this second man from heaven that was sent for our deliverance.

1 Corinthians 15:20-22 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. (21) For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. (22) For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. (KJV)

The realm of the flesh is a dead end; no matter how many ways you approach this path it always ends up in the same place with the same dead end results. Does that pattern sound familiar; maybe it is describing your walk lately, one where you take two steps forward and three steps back? You know, this second man from heaven has a name, and it was by this man that we are able to resurrect from the dead as well, and find our way of escape from this dead fallen realm. Our Lord came that we would have life, a spiritual life, and have it more abundantly; one that now has more of a real impact and influence on us than what this outward fallen realm has had in the past.

Proverbs 18:20-21 A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. (21) Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. (KJV)

Call this a friendly reminder today, as well as a warning, of the fact that the Bible is clear to point out that death and life are in the power of the tongue. Interesting to note that it uses the word ‘power’, because you now have the ability in Christ to be speaking words that are Spirit and bringing forth a new life; otherwise, whatever negative doctrine you allowed into your heart will be coming out of your mouth because you were not keeping a watch over it.

Proverbs 4:19-23 The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble. (20) My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. (21) Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. (22) For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. (23) Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. (KJV)

People throw words out there; God’s people are so haphazard in throwing out negative words in front of themselves and then wonder why they don’t move forward in their walk with the Lord. If you really kept a watch on your heart you would have kept a watch on the entrance as well as the exit part of your temple, so that you would not be unleashing any negative poisonous words that will come back to bite you eventually. Do you seek the Lord on how to speak, getting His take on the Word, and not just taking man’s word for it or your own carnal viewpoint of what you see taking place in the body of Christ? Do you wonder why at times you have health issues? Well, you can either allow healthy doctrine to be spoken and then manifest in your walk, or you can go the other direction and end up like many of God’s people who are weak and sickly, and some are literally in a spiritual coma.

Proverbs 14:29-30 He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly. (30) A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones. (KJV)

You know, a sound heart is a result of someone giving ear to sound doctrine and then speaking it as well. Have you ever said something you regretted, sometimes just reacting to a situation before taking the time to hear the whole matter? I am sure we all can recall our own personal experiences; now it is a matter of learning to be quicker to hear our Lord’s take on these matters, and being slower to speak is of benefit also.

Proverbs 15:1-2 A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger. (2) The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness. (KJV)

Grievous words are like ringing the bell for a prize fight, it signals the start of a conflict that could have actually been avoided. The flip side of these grievous words is an outpouring of foolishness, something that will escalate the strife and lead to an unhealthy outcome. Ever see some of these fighters after the match, yeah, not to healthy looking are they?

Matthew 12:31-32 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. (32) And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come. (KJV)

Speaking words against the first man Adam is one thing, and not something you really want to put into practice. However, when you start speaking against the second man that was sent our way, the Lord from heaven, then you have entered a realm of an eternal death sentence if continued and not repented of. Ever hear the term the spirit of antichrist? Ever wonder why the enemy got tagged with that title? Before you go speaking something, make sure you get the right opinion from the right source, or you might just end up being tagged with that title of one in opposition to our Lord also.
