Channeling Living Waters
Matthew 12:34-37 O generation of vipers,
how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the
heart the mouth speaketh. (35) A good man out of the good treasure of the
heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure
bringeth forth evil things. (36) But I say unto you, That every idle word
that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of
judgment. (37) For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words
thou shalt be condemned. (KJV)
Why is it so important to watch what you
speak? Well, it is actually a life or death, make or break situation, one
that will determine your eternal destination. What you allow into the heart
is what will come out. If you keep a watch on what you allow into your
heart then you won’t allow anything in that is unhealthy. However, if you
are not watching and being alert then you will allow something in that can
eventually take you down like a virus, if not dealt with properly.
Mark 7:18-23 And he saith unto them, Are
ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing
from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him; (19) Because it
entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the
draught, purging all meats? (20) And he said, That which cometh out of the
man, that defileth the man. (21) For from within, out of the heart of men,
proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, (22) Thefts,
covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy,
pride, foolishness: (23) All these evil things come from within, and defile
the man. (KJV)
The Holy Spirit is like a filter; it
takes the things of God and shows you the pure meaning of His Word. Mankind
gets a hold of it and changes the meaning of His Word making it appear that
God is more concerned with the root of all evil, that being the love of
money and not with the things of our Lord. Either way, it is up to you to
determine for yourself by allowing the Holy Spirit to teach you what is
healthy, and what should not be allowed into the heart, because that is
what will come out of your mouth eventually.
John 7:37-39 In the last day, that great
day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him
come unto me, and drink. (38) He that believeth on me, as the scripture
hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (39) (But
this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive:
for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet
glorified.) (KJV)
Here is what a real abundant life is all
about, allowing rivers of living waters to flow through you, watering and
bring life to those around you as well. In order for this to take place
though one has to believe more in what the Lord is saying, and not in what
our outward senses would try and dictate as truth.
Proverbs 18:4-7 The words of a man's
mouth are as deep waters, and the wellspring of wisdom as a flowing brook.
(5) It is not good to accept the person of the wicked, to overthrow the
righteous in judgment. (6) A fool's lips enter into contention, and his
mouth calleth for strokes. (7) A fool's mouth is his destruction, and his
lips are the snare of his soul. (KJV)
If you were a garden, how would you
describe it, something healthy with a lot of life, or just a dried out
piece of land overgrown with weeds? If you don’t like what has come up in
your garden you need to ask the Lord if there was some seed that was planted,
something that was choking the life out of the new growth that was started.
A slip of the tongue, not keeping a watch over what you allowed into your
heart will flow through it and out of the mouth, either channeling words of
life or death.
Isaiah 12:3-6 Therefore with joy shall ye
draw water out of the wells of salvation. (4) And in that day shall ye say,
Praise the LORD, call upon his name, declare his doings among the people,
make mention that his name is exalted. (5) Sing unto the LORD; for he hath
done excellent things: this is known in all the earth. (6) Cry out and
shout, thou inhabitant of Zion: for great is the Holy One of Israel in the
midst of thee. (KJV)
Think of yourself as a pipe, one that is
used for irrigation. All we are is a vessel; we can either allow the living
waters to flow through us, or we can stop the flow and dry up. It’s your
choice; what you allow into the heart is what will come out, will it be channeling
living waters?
