Weaning The Disciples

John 20:29-31 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. (30) And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: (31) But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. (KJV)

If one chooses to go back and take a look at the accounts at the end of the gospels we are able to see our Lord appearing to the disciples in another form, and showing them a new realm and way to worship Him. Similar to what we ourselves have experienced; having been brought up in the realm of the flesh and relying on our outward senses, we too needed to be weaned from that realm so that we could feed on and get our nourishment from a new source, that being the unseen (Spiritual) realm. As one notices also, the Lord gives us a deeper insight into His name, which yes, does include the name of Christ, which is not a title but an actual name; in fact it is the only name under heaven by which we are saved. Remember what the Lord asked the disciples in Matthew 16, ‘who do men say that I am’? Do you remember what response our Lord said came from above and was blessed? Well, if you are looking to find life then you need to know that name also, so that you can be weaned from the milk and into the meat of God’s Word.

Luke 24:44-47 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me. (45) Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, (46) And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: (47) And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. (KJV)

Once again folks we see our Lord appearing after His crucifixion in another form, giving the disciples a deeper insight into His realm, as well as what His name is. Not only did Jesus of Nazareth suffer on the cross for us, but Christ Himself suffered for us as well, having spent three days and three nights in hell to pay the Spiritual price for our sin. After all, where else did He get the keys of hell and death except by taking them from the devil, and unlocking the prison that kept us separated from the Father, setting the captives free. So of these two, Jesus the child that was born, and Christ the Son of God that was given, was made one new man who is seated at the right hand of the Father ready to reveal His plan of salvation to us personally.

Philippians 2:8-11 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. (9) Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: (10) That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; (11) And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (KJV)

Not only did God exalt this man and seat Him at His right hand, but He was given a name which is above every name. Now, while many claim that it is in the name of Jesus alone, the complete name that every tongue should be confessing is Jesus Christ, because without the Spirit of Christ within this man He would not have been able to live the life He did and accomplish a complete work of redemption for mankind.

1 John 4:1-4 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. (2) Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: (3) And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. (4) Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. (KJV)

What’s in a name, what’s the big deal? Well the big deal is, what are you confessing and giving credence to; are you seeing the complete picture for yourself, or are you leaving the most important part of the equation out of your prayers? If you notice, there are many who are not confessing and speaking truth, but rather are leaving something out of their prayers and teachings, and that would be the name of Christ. Again if you notice, it is not the spirit of antijesus but rather antichrist. Who are those that overcome these false teachings and misrepresentations? Those that look within to find the answer and no longer look to the outward or popular opinions and doctrines.

1 John 2:18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. (KJV)

I don’t know about you but when I hear people teach and preach only in the name of Jesus and leave out Christ, it is definitely a big red flag. Of all the names to leave out, the one name our Lord came to reveal to His people keeps getting overlooked, which again we see is by many.

1 John 2:22-23 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. (23) Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also. (KJV)

Remember what our Lord said about those that deny Him? Yup, He in turn will deny them, which if one continues in the deception they will be denied eternal access to their reward. The simple truth comes down to the fact that we are either with Him or against Him, which is what the term ‘antichrist’ means, an opponent of the Messiah. Are you in agreement with God today; have you been weaned from the carnal to the Spiritual; and do you know how to access the Father through His Son? Many are still in denial; and my prayer today is that you will take another look at the Word and allow the Lord to reveal Himself to you personally.

2 John 1:7-8 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. (8) Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. (KJV)

You need to look within the Word of God for yourself so that you can see and understand the only truth that will set you free, a truth that alludes many. Your eternal reward, the one name and revelation God desires to show you is in Christ, while anything else is a deception. God’s true disciples, followers of Him, will only find the meat of the Word, the truth that will nourish, is in Christ who is in the realm of the Spirit; while many others continue on the milk because they haven’t gotten beyond the carnal infant stage, but are still waiting for someone else to feed them. Do realize though, that the scriptures are specific to point out that many are feeding the people with false information based on the outward and not the inward. God bless and get inside so you are not left on the outside.
