Get The Led In

Romans 8:14-15 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. (15) For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. (KJV)

Strong’s definition for ‘led’:

71  ago (ag'-o); a primary verb; properly, to lead; by implication, to bring, drive, (reflexively) go, (specially) pass (time), or (figuratively) induce:

KJV-- be, bring (forth), carry, (let) go, keep, lead away, be open.

So today, right now, what is really the leading or driving force in your life; is it really the Spirit of God, doing what is pleasing to Him, or are you being led away by another influence, that being your lower fallen nature? That spirit of fear you allowed in did not come from God, but rather you entertained another driving force into your heart, that being something that was leading you away from God rather than drawing you near.

Psalms 37:23-27 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. (24) Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand. (25) I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. (26) He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed. (27) Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore. (KJV)

You know, making a commitment to the Lord is a good start, but in order to maintain a quality walk in the Spirit one must constantly continue seeking the Lord in all the decisions that they make, especially before stepping out. It reminds me of going ice fishing early in the season; one steps out cautiously until they know they are on firm ice. The same holds true with a young Christian, the more they stay in contact with the Lord the more firm they will be in their walk and a lot less likely to fall again in the areas the enemy used to get them to doubt in the past. As long as you stay in good standing with the Lord the less you will rely on your outward vision, but rather you become more accustomed to walking by faith, a faith in the things which are unseen to man but clearly revealed to those that are being driven by the Spirit of God.

Galatians 5:14-18 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. (15) But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. (16) This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. (17) For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. (18) But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. (KJV)

Williams New Testament translation of Galatians 5:14-18

14. For the whole law is summed up in one saying, "You must love your neighbor as you do yourself." 15. But if you continue to bite and eat one another, beware lest you are destroyed by one another. 16. I mean this: Practice living by the Spirit and then by no means will you gratify the cravings of your lower nature. 17. For the cravings of the lower nature are just the opposite to those of the Spirit, and the cravings of the Spirit are just the opposite of those of the lower nature; these two are opposed to each other, so that you cannot do anything you please. 18. But if you are guided by the Spirit, you are not subject to the law.

The law of sin and death is spiritual; and I was carnal, a slave to my lower nature until a new law came to deliver me from this bondage into the glorious liberty we have in Christ. It took something or someone Spiritual to conquer this law of sin that has been the plague of mankind since the fall, that being the Spirit of God to lead me and guide me in His will so that I can be delivered from this present evil world and its enticements. Have you sought the path the Lord would have you to walk this day, your escape from this present evil world, or are you walking right back into harm’s way allowing another spirit to guide you? Better yet, have you spent enough quality time in the Word for yourself, so that you can rightly divide the word of truth and know that you are on the right path the Lord designed for you before the foundation of the world?

Williams New Testament translation of Matthew 6:31-34

31. So never worry and say, `What are we going to have to eat?  What are we going to have to drink?  What are we going to have to wear?' 32. For the heathen are greedily pursuing all such things; and surely your heavenly Father well knows that you need them all. 33. But as your first duty keep on looking for His standard of doing right, and for His will, and then all these things will be yours besides. 34. So never worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will have worries of its own.  Each day has evil enough of its own."

For those of you that are or have been parents, you know the needs that a child has, even before they are born you made preparations. Our Father knew what you had need of as well, even before the world was made, and provided a path of life for you to walk, supplying all your need. Now what we need to do and train ourselves to do on a daily basis is to seek first His kingdom which is Spiritual, then all that is needed is provided; which totally contradicts the world who greedily pursues all such things our Lord said He would provide, providing that we allow Him to.

Psalms 23:3-6 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. (4) Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. (5) Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. (6) Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever. (KJV)

There are times according to our outward sight that we are walking a dead end trail leading to certain destruction. However, for those that are being led by the Spirit of God, they have trained their Spiritual senses as well as keeping their minds renewed in truth; knowing that goodness and mercy is following them as long as they are following the leading of the Spirit of God.
