Eye Spy
1 Peter 3:10-12 For he that will love
life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips
that they speak no guile: (11) Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him
seek peace, and ensue it. (12) For the eyes of the Lord are over the
righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the
Lord is against them that do evil. (KJV)
Many countries have satellites to keep a
watch from above so that they can be warned ahead of time of an impending
threat. Those of us who are Christians have the same advantage, because we
have someone seated at the right hand of God watching over us and warning
us of an impending attack, the question is how many are really listening
and on the same wave length? Again we see, it is those that are able to
keep the tongue tamed, in subjection to the Spirit, that are approved of
God because they let His peace rule in their walk and not their outward
senses. However, those that choose to ignore the warnings and exhortation
from above eventually end up with an in your face encounter with the Lord,
not a very pleasant realm or place to be in.
Isaiah 46:9-11 Remember the former things
of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none
like me, (10) Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times
the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I
will do all my pleasure: (11) Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the
man that executeth my counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken it, I
will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it. (KJV)
Do you know of anyone else that can
accurately declare the end from the beginning? Every time, every situation,
someone that knows ahead of time what is going to take place and why it
takes place? Yet with all this wisdom and knowledge we have access to why
would you go blindly down a dark dead end trail, especially when it is not
peaceable? The Lord promised His people that surely goodness and mercy would
follow us all the days of our lives, so where is the doubt and fear coming
from unless you are not on the path where that should be taking place.
Isn’t it comforting to know that the steps of a good man are ordered by the
Lord, something He saw before the foundation of the world, the reason why
you have His peace today knowing you are on that path of life? Yet with
this in mind, why do we still doubt at times, or actually think we know
better than the Lord and try and improve on His plan?
2 Chronicles 16:9 For the eyes of the
LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in
the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done
foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars. (KJV)
Do you know of anyone else that has eyes
that can go throughout the whole earth? We are encouraged to be strong in
the Lord and in the power of His might, because we are now seeing things
from a different perspective also, maturing and growing up into Christ.
When we were children or child like, we would experience turmoil, warring
in our own lusts because we were seeking and looking more to this fallen
realm for peace rather than the heavenly one. Do you desire to be strong in
the Lord? Then you need to be looking His way to find that strength; a
strength that will endure even when everything else around you is crumbling
and falling apart.
John 4:23-26 But the hour cometh, and now
is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in
truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. (24) God is a Spirit:
and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. (25) The
woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ:
when he is come, he will tell us all things. (26) Jesus saith unto her, I
that speak unto thee am he. (KJV)
So what is the Lord looking for when He
scans this earth? Well how about likeminded people, those that desire to
worship Him properly, which is in Spirit, set free by His truth. One of the
first things we will find in our new life is that there is more to this man
named Jesus than just what we knew after our outward sight, but rather we
now have a deeper insight by the Spirit of Christ working in us to give us
enlightenment into the realm of God. So who and what is the Lord seeing
when He looks your way today; is it a new creation in Christ that has
allowed old things and ways of thinking to pass away? Or is He passing you
by and moving on in His search because you have chosen to hang onto old things
and are passing away instead of abiding in a new life in Christ?
Psalms 145:18-20 The LORD is nigh unto
all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth. (19) He
will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry,
and will save them. (20) The LORD preserveth all them that love him: but
all the wicked will he destroy. (KJV)
As long as we keep the line of
communication open between us and the Lord we can remain in good standing
with Him. The more we draw nigh or near unto the Lord, He in turn does the
same, revealing more of Himself to us. That prayer request you made to the
Lord, that desire you have to be closer to Him, to hear His voice and know
His Word, to know you are in good standing with Him, well He is willing to
fulfill His end of the bargain, are you?
Proverbs 15:2-5 The tongue of the wise
useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness. (3)
The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good. (4)
A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach
in the spirit. (5) A fool despiseth his father's instruction: but he that
regardeth reproof is prudent. (KJV)
So what is the Lord seeing today when He
looks your way? Is it truly one of His own offspring, or another dime a
dozen fool who thinks they know better than Him? The eyes of the Lord are
everywhere; He has already ordained a path for you to walk before the
foundation of the world. The Lord went ahead of us to prepare a place for
us in His body, now the question is, are you in the place He would have you
to be? Keep in mind, He is always watching, are you?
